obviously dude has made his mind up, factual or not. It was enough debate to ask Gamerlingual to ask, since some people thought Raiden's scale was a standard and not a one-off. I more curious about the scale of other figures in JPG1,every figure as big as Optimus is probably going to result in few getting made

Lol
Onilink
So Legend class

Like this? Can 3P MP combiners do that with MP Shockwave? :/

I used think people liking how Takara's MPG combiner turned out over 3rd Party Masterpiece were just loyal to the brand. Now I'm not sure if it just boils down to partsforming vs not partsforming (Although Moon Studio doesn't parts form any more than Takara). Since most smaller chug sized combiners don't parts form as much, and most larger MP sized Third Party combiners do.
Then there is the Anti toon people liking smaller combiners that could play a part as well. Or just wanting cheaper combiners they can afford or have limited room for.
I just recommend experiencing the joy of having a large combiner being able to hold another basic main character figure before he crushes or throws it, vs a smaller combiner that can't hold those figures for cool poses like that. It gives me warm fuzzies inside, and makes me love this hobby.
I think Combiners should be able to pick up the normal sized Transformers and smack them around like insignificant objects like in the cartoon.

Takara makes real combiners, not Floro Dery slave drawings that neccessitate vehicles strapped onto a holoween costume
Gee Won 1984
I think you just don't like parts forming, and I don't mind it if it achieves cartoon accuracy. The fan base is split on this. Takara chose no parts forming and made a smaller combiner than was in the cartoon. Which is understandable, but is a turn off for the half of the fans that don't mind parts forming to achieve perfection. I like my combiners in combined mode, so I see that as the most important mode. Some don't.

Happy for you, but as Takara already advertized, MPG are MP size (and so future ones), no needs for more words . Other things are explained by physics.

The individual Trainbots themselves were the right size, but that physically limited the size of Raiden. They couldn't really get around it though with this team. Other teams we know can work better as we've seen 3rd parties pull them off with properly sized team members and combined forms. That does sometimes require combiner kibble to work though and I'm not sure how much Takara wants to dip into that for MPG. Right now Raiden only has a few pieces, like his head and chest plate, that are partsformed.
At least Takara knows how to sculpt a face though, unlike MS. Takara was certainly more accurate with those. They also didn't have to resort to chibi sizing most of the train modes like MS did.

Takara is changing MPG's to not be like the trainbots. That is admitting they were not the correct size of a MP combiner, I'm glad I have my Moon Studio version which is more accurate.
The only way I could see justifying a MMC/Chug scale combiner is to make the Titans look bigger in a Diorama. But if you keep the Titans separate from the combiners, the combiners look better and more accurate with other MP's in Toyworld/Fan Toys/Moon Studios/Cang Toys size. Plus Devastator has to be close to Omega Supreme size if they are going to be fighting each other. And Devastator should be the same size as the other combiners. Chug size MPG combiners put a damper on this.
Sizing this MPG combined is better with Legends figures than MP's.
Heck I size my ToyWorld Devastator with Legends figures and it looks perfect!

I wouldnt be surprised though to see Takara reset the JPG1 scale. Figures in a new series being bigger than older figures to make them stand out to kids, leads to some odd scaling the farther you go. You start ending up with characters minor or not, starting off at Optimus height, which makes them unlikely to be done in MP scale.
Gamerlingual
Yup. In their Japanese product comparisons, they showed the bot modes were to supposed to be in scale with the current MP aesthetic. Indeed, Takara knows the size of their characters.
Onilink
No denial, Takara knows the size of their characters
Gee Won 1984
I disagree, the MPG train bot's were too small. That is why High Moon Raiden was made and sold very well, and why I went with them. They wouldn't be changing the size of MPG's if they were the correct size. They were model train size as a temporary thing. It's obvious. Don't be in denial
Onilink
Depends what do you mean for MP Scaled combiners.
This is the official scale chart, actually the second Devastator is what you realistically can have with no fake add on parts, and basically this scale is only followed by MMC for now. Other 3P used fake add on parts (somewhat in a invasive way) to reach the proportions of the first Devastator.
But Takara alway starts with components in robot mode in scale.
Onilink
MPG are MP size. Alt mode are basically spaghetti, so a proportioned gestalt with tiny and long alt mode was possibile only in a smaller size. Other combiner should not suffer for this problem, MMC combiner should be the aimed height

Theres plenty floating around as far as toon scale, but since Takara avoids partsforming we're probably looking at 16-18 inches for for future combiners. Since the Rsiden trains are HO scale and in scale with each other, there wasnt enough too make them as big as other future combiners
