To our surprise, we have our first official Transformers 3D print files ever. The official Paramount Pictures Printable account have just shared 2 new official Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts Optimus Primal Head & Mini-Figure Free 3D prints files.
You can download the files for free via Printable website and start printing. As easy as you read it! The Optimus Prima head is available in hollow and solid versions and a stand file. The head was designed by the animators of the Transformers film and then made into a 3D model by Morgan Morey. The Optimus Primal – print in place figure was created by Nikko Mendoza.
See the mirrored images after the jump as well as a promotional video by 3D Printing Nerd YouTube where they print an impressive metal version of the Optimus Primal head!

I would love to have one big enough (and hollow enough) to wear as a helmet
Looks amazing!

Printed and painted! Scaled down to 65% iirc, like a little avocado.

Neat…but I have to be honest. The thumbnail pic on my phone just looked like a wadded up piece of tinfoil.

A figure that BSF can't break!?!?

Oh I need to do this one in resin over plastic.

Seeing the thread title, I thought it was referring to the world tour Optimus Primal statue.

Wow, they actually released the model officially on Printables? That's awesome, I'm gonna make one!

This is awesome! Does someone want to print one and send it to me? (For money, of course).

Wow, an official 3d print file. Years ago, I thought that we may get to a point where you don't buy the physical object. You buy the files. This feels like a fairly big step in fulfulling that prediction. The tech still needs to come a long way, but the tech has already improved drastically since I got my 3d printer about 5 years ago. But official Paramount studio files? Wow, just wow.

Well, guess it's time to fire up the ol' Photon. Can't do the print in place figure with resin but I want a copy of that Primal head. The tie-in marketing for ROTB has been fascinating to see and I really like that they're including things like this.

Okay, now that's pretty awesome! My buddy has a 3d printer so I might see if he can make these for me. I really want a 3d printer myself. Maybe it'll be a family Christmas present this year since my wife really wants one too.

HOLY FUXK THIS IS HUGE
Probably a one off random thing but I watched Adam and the other guys vids last night and I reckon this kind of recognition is hugely important for future integration!

I watched Adam Savage debut the 300 lbs (hollow) one yesterday, the print technology is amazing. The big primal head was printed on the same machine used for aluminum NASA parts.
TF Hot Rod
TESTED and Adam Salvage also did a video as well.
And damn that this is durable as fuck.
The Illustrator
… are they still around?

Oooo yeah! Come on Unique Toys, give us an Optimus Primal with fur coming out of the shoulder blades. You know you want to. Just do it!
