Yep. This was pointed out some weeks ago by Prime Vs. Prime in his review of the Scourge action figure.

If you haven't notice his insignia trophies yet, look at his arms. He hunted down some Predacons.

I love the Terrorcons’ designs a lot, especially Battletrap. His general silhouette and face are just cool
MehWave
Or looking wistfully on the remains of his old form?
Wild Bill
Now that is cool!! good eye.
OverloadedTaco
I like both
Afterburner
You're right, but also think about these 2 facts – not only did someone actually say YES PLEASE to that design, but they also said that's way cooler than what all of us would agree is one of the best head designs of all time.
Mind-blowingly offensive and stupid.

This is just Prime…….that's all. no one else or any other version

They always do CGI up until a little before release. They usually go to outside companies for their trailers and they usually give them old footage. I seen a preview of Transformers before Spiderman last night and the CGI is beautiful. We have nothing to worry about.
Miyaren
I like aoe bumblebee Cos he was modelled after a ninja (and stinger was definitely after bee was designed )
PrimeBot
I think that's Optimus, you can kinda tell the battle mask.
PrimeBot
He better keep his head clear of Prime axe hehe.
Really liking that shot though, Scourge is most likely taunting him in that first fight.
QLRformer
Awesome pics.
Chopperface
I want to say that’s actually Mirage he’s talking to, though Optimus is almost certainly in this scene so it could be him.
Notomus
So are we ignoring the fact that Scourge is talking to Bay Prime in this shot?

man’s again movies take ideas from cartoons wheeljack and preceptor sterotype nerds in cartoon series wheeljack as mad scientist in one episode , arcee mother figure to auto bots and annoying Daniel , grimlock all muscle stupid brain strong as he is muscle bound body builder mostly nfl player , cliffjumper hot head and hotrod, kup grandfather always with war stories back in my day situations, ultra magnus soldier second in command need I say more about
g1 cartoon stereo types characters
BigRed
Nah. Wheeljack might have details referencing a human nerd, but the way the shapes of his body are blocked are absolutely nothing like the AoE Autobots, at all. He is far too angular and "toy-like" for that. If anything he resembles a more detailed version of a Transformers Prime or RID2015 character before he resembles the art style AoE used, regardless of any "nerdy" thematic.

Of the three Autobots in that picture, Arcee is the least hourglassy.

I know all that. But even with the original release in 2022, SS would've only been six months after the movie itself (and probably immediately after the final wave of the main ROTB line), which is a short space of time for them to design and develop them, so they probably would've started work on them way before the finalised film. We know from previous movies that even without a delay, designs get tweaked last minute, to the point where seemingly final promo images still end up being less than accurate.
Of course they want to release products based on the film, but with the main movie line on shelves during the movie's release, it really would've have hurt them to delay even planning on making the SS figures until the film's completion, which would've only originally really meant another 6 months. The fact that Studio Series is still going five years later proves that collectors don't need the movie to be concurrent with the toys for the toys to sell; the line's purpose isn't really to support and promote a movie, but to provide something accurate after the fact.
