We have quite interesting and revealing declarations from Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts Director Steven Caple Jr. about the continuity of the new movie.
During an interview in Alfonso Nation YouTube Channel Steven Caple Jr. talks about several topics of the upcoming movie and he answers about a the “Bayverse vs Reboot” issue and he states that Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts is a reboot.
While this is sure shocking news for Bayverse fans, it’s good to remember that this contradicts several previous Lorenzo di Bonaventura’s declarations of this movie not being a total reboot.
Not much left to say, so we suggest you to decided if it’s or not a reboot after watching the movie in theaters. Watch the full interview after the jump (or go to 40:40 minute to listen to the reboot declaration) and then share your impressions on the 2005 Boards.

Yeah pretty clear Caple has no personal interest in staying on the Bayverse track. Just gotta cross our fingers that he's allowed to branch off with his own take on Megatron and leave the Bayverse behind entirely.

Caple again talking about the Bayverse as a separate thing, and stating that the franchise is in a new place now where they could be open to exploring a G1 style Megatron in a sequel:

"I'm interested in where Megatron is, I think that would be interesting. We didn't get to see him in Bumblebee. Just curious about what we could do with him. I know where he's technically at in the "Bayverse," but I feel like where the franchise is at now, to revive that, see him in a different light for our G1 fans out there, to see him in that kind of form, it'd be really exciting."

Who cares if it's reboot or not as long as the movie is good I'm fine with it
Rob
He also said the same about optimus from the 1996 movie in the past. I believe he is referring to characterization.
You can call it whatever you want, but so long as gates are not decided (Jazz dies in '07 amd Megatron frozen) i don't care what is value .

"A reboot is not always a new continuity in film and television. While a reboot typically involves creating a new version of a previously established franchise or series, sometimes it can still exist within the same continuity as the original source material. For example, a reboot can pick up the story where the previous version left off or have references to the events that happened in the original."

Articles from 2018 BBM, 2021, 2022 and May 30 2023 from writers and producer explicitly state ROTB is in the same continuity/timeline IE not a new continuity. Statements from directors have been similar, some have used the term reboot IE a refresh(feels like a reboot, its a refresher so we can call it a reboot etc)but none have ever explicitly stated BBM or ROTB to be a completely separate and new continuity. The ROTB director in interviews says this ROTB OP will become 2007 OP etc.

Right, I posted part 1 instead of part 2, here it is
Willsweird
To be fair, you might have just posted the wrong video. He doesn't say any of that in this one, but at 4:10 he says Rise of the Beasts is technically Transformers 7.
John Titor
Check the video below. I gave you a video and a time stamp (25 seconds) where the director EXPLICITLY states with no ambiguity that this is the same continuity. The optimus you see in this film is the exact same optimus we see in Transformers 1,2,3 and 5. He explicitly lists all those films.
Willsweird
Hey, look! A thing that didn't happen!
Actual quote:
"It's a reboot for sure, *laughs* that's all I can say without spoilering." Yeah, kiddo. There's ambiguity there.
But enjoy that Cope-a-cola
WreckerImpactor
The director Explicitly states in an interview, with no ambiguity, that it is a reboot.
John Titor
Do you care what anyone would say? What about the director himself? While he uses the term reboot willy nilly, he also say stuff like this at the 25 second mark where this film shows us how Optimus Prime becomes the character we see in the michael bay movies
So now we officially have every single entity involved with the film stating it's connection in continuity with the Bayverse. This does not make it make more sense, of course, nor does it mean it will all tie in one day (I don't think it will) but it means that every party is falling in line in the narrative premise they want to market this film as.
WreckerImpactor
It's giving "no you" energy. I could give a shit what Lorenzo says.
Godzilla Ranger
Everything below the eyes is rip straight from BayFormers trilogy Optimus
Rob
I mean I know bayverse sucks so badly, like man it's crap, but a generation was raised on it, so we have to accept some of those new (weird) aspects). Got to be a little bit flexible.
Nah man, it's apparently Peter's face according to Caple .
JS_Prime
They're saying Prime's face is given the same expressions Peter makes in his performance, not that Prime's face is a literal recreation of Peter's physical face. At least that's what I took away from the explanation in the interview
Miyaren
If this makes a billion it will be the Capelverse full steam ahead. If ur flops Capel will be 100% fired we might as well just call it the lorenzoverse not knightverse or beevwrse
Willsweird
No. You're speculating on the dynamic. I'm reading the production credits. There are ZERO Allspark producers on the movie. They're only in EP slots.
Miyaren
Th
On sure they can say that but the results just shows me the same bay face with all the same plates and nose and horse face
MehWave
The shareholders are running the franchise.
Rob
Chain of command doesn't usually work that way nowadays. There is alot of horizontal power.
Yeah but now you are speculating how the dynamic works
