Thanks to 2005 Boards member Daimao for sharing in our boards photographic proof of his sighting of the new Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts Beast Mode Bumblebee at US retail.
This 25-cm tall toy is part of ROTB Mainline and has got 3 modes: robot, vehicle, and beast; and can go from robot to licensed off-road Camaro in 19 steps before squeezing the figure’s legs together to reveal the new eagle beast-mode. It features lights and sounds too. It was found at a Target in Hampton, Virginia and priced $52.99.
The bird head in chest and wings make it look like some weird knock-off…
Insert dreadful birds and bees pun here
Not a bad price to pay to introduce the kids to the Aliens franchise.
Saw this yesterday at a target in Wisconsin.
53 bucks for a hollowed out, cheap plastic, outside clip-on wheels? Nope I'll pass.
Que the people defending this pile of garbage because IT'S FOR THE KOIIIOIIIIDS!
It was all a dream
$20 toy with like $30 extra because electronics
You can copyright it all day long if it has a personality and identifiable attributes that were creatively made.
Plus, it kind of doesn't matter if one Bumblebee toy doesn't have trademark protection on the name because all the others DO.
The Sycophant Starscream
holy shit bumblebee is a cannibal
Oh NOOO, Bumblebee ate Airrazor! Run for your lives, Maximals!!!
So this is the TF equivalent of a Turducken.
Future "hottest toys for Christmas" sale item.
Followed that summer by "Look what I found at a yard sale for $2!"
He brought a chest friend.
He’s got that dawg in him.
Put a bird in it
He actually looks pretty cool.. just not $53 cool.
We’re long past the days of Beetle, Rhino, Panther, and Manta Ray.
Now that I think about it decades later, there was probably no trademark info at all and they were just telling you the animal, not their names, because they had none..
That’s how we got Under-3!
Why did the chicken cross the road?
Man if the smash changer Prime is anything to go by these are not gonna move, especially at $53?
ehrm achually they can’t make a bumblebee toy that turns into a bumblebee because that would make it a non-copyrightable descriptor
I don’t know which is more disappointing to me. The complete lack of a proper Beast Wars style Bumblebee for this or the fact the animal head is a chicken and not a bumblebee.
