Via Chefatron YouTube channel we can share for you our first in-hand images of the new Transformers: Legacy Evolution Core Class Swoop & Scarr.
These figures are part of Legacy Wave 6 Core class and we have images in both modes, together with the other previously released 3 Core Dinobots Grimlock, Sludge and Slug, and we also have some shots in their Volcanicus combiner mode. We are missing just Snarl to complete Volcanicus.
See the images, as well as a video review, after the break and share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!
I really hope we see more Core Class Combiners after Volcanicus and Dino King. I think an SS86 Core Class Devastator would work well and be fun.
That looks surprisingly good with real feet.
All I found was a pair of Starscreams
But Target has 2 spots for cores now: the regular aisle and the ROTF endcap, so I think we'll be seeing this wave out in abundance

So Swoop can *snicker* GIVE HIM A HAND?
Well, of course. I'm just saying this could've been a planned double-feature. It would make sense if Snarl comes and has one weapon along with the rest minus Sludge. Why make him a weapon when he can share one of Swoop's?
That's what I'm thinking. A Dinoking box set will have physical a budget space for extra feet parts.
Still, would have been interesting to see Snarl's spines separate into combo mode feet
I would very much doubt he has budget enough to get two feet for the combined mode. Hopefully they’re saving that for the Dinoking release.
Would be nice. Grimlock's waist piece has slot of sorts molded on the bottom. Seems like something should go there.
But most likely being save for Dinoking.
I think the weapon split was exclusively so he could have his dino mode weapons / look more accurate in dino mode.
What i'm curious about is what Snarl is going to do… is he going to be just another big chunky leg, or will he have removable parts to make somewhat articulated feet for the combo mode…
Was able to snag a Swoop and Scarr today, so put this guy together. I love how he looks when he has feet. The adapter I printed doesn't hold up as well as I'd like though, so I'll probably be redesigning that.
Really, some better hands are probably the things I'd want the most. Still love fiddling with the set though.

So, after getting Scarr and Swoop in-hand, I'm thinking that it was planned all along for Swoop to have a weapon that splits, not just for his dino mode, but I think a spare so Sludge has a weapon as well.
Once Snarl comes out, I'm betting he'll have a single weapon, as well, and they'll all have a weapon. I can't imagine Sludge will be the only one without a weapon when it's all said and done.
If they did plan it this way, it's cheap, easy, and smart. They get to make an affordable set and we still get a complete team. Win/win in my book.
TF Hot Rod
I hope so, same for Scorn and a new Slash.
Personally, I'd say voyager, because then you can use it for 2 more uses reasonably. I think an extra leader with no story would have a hard time, but make him voyager, and then you could retool him into
A. The bw character who was also an anky
B. A repaint as the conceptual aoe ankylo dinobot
Like, I like the idea of an extra dinobot, but I hesitate to say leader because he might just not be popular enough. A voyager wouldn't look too out of place ak9ngst the dinobots, and you could do 2 repaints more comfortably
Do you think there should be a Leader Class Scarr at some point?
Maybe not studio series 86, maybe in the Legacy line after?
About to order SG Grimlock. Didn’t realize it was coming in stock this soon
How’d you attach that cape to Tarn? Looks unique!
Probably nothing new but I found putting Slug's tail on Volcanicus's neck makes him looks like a samurai. No pegs for the tail on Volcanicus's neck but it can be stuck there, although it will leave Volcanicus's belly exposed.
