Third party company Metagate have updated their Weibo account with iamges of the gray prototype of their G-05 Red Fantasy (Bumblebee Movie Shatter Triple-Changer).
This looks like a pretty impressive rendition of Bumblebee Movie Shatter in movie-accurate robot, car and jet mode. According to the Weibo post, this figure will stand 27 cm in robot mode (to the top of the antenna), 35 cm long in jet mode and 22 cm long in car mode.
We still have no concrete information about price or release date, but you can see all the images after the break and share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

Well, you know, some people like 3-step transformations that give them instant gratification, and some people pretend to like needlessly obtuse and mechanically superfluous transformation elements to feed both a risible sense of superiority and the sadly mistaken belief that it makes them appear either intelligent or interesting. Potato, pohtahto.

I'm 100% sure the transformation of this will be nightmarish. That's some triple-changing magic here, not your 2018 Peru Kill with a compromised blocky robot mode

It’s not about them taking no time at all to transform, it’s them being insanely over complicated for what they do or not having any smooth order of operation.
It’s ridiculous to belittle people who like smooth transformations and passing them off as wanting 3 step changers.
DominiksGeekyLife
I like transformations to feel like a puzzle, but I understand that some people like 3-step transformations that give them instant gratification.

I don't "prefer" complex transformations at all, but I do totally get what you're saying about faux parts. It's just more satisfying. It's like when you get a figure that looks less accurate but it transforms. It feels more satisfying because you KNOW it can transform, even if you don't do it often.
Zoo
I think it depends on who you are. I can see why someone might like an overly complex transformation as maybe it feels more "movie accurate", or they enjoy the challenge. That's why I'm a huge fan of real parts over faux, it makes the transformation feel more "cinematic" hard to put into words but I hope you understand what I mean
Hobart Paving
Any transformation that takes so long you need a break during it doesn't sound fun to me…
Zoo
Besides positioning of the arms, I think the haiku transformation is pretty fun. I esp find the legs really satisfying both ways. I don't transformer a lot of my figures for the sole reason that a lot of them are a pita, but honestly for bayverse I don't mind. If I want to fiddle with somethung I have my chug figures
hypebars
Thats what I felt like, I had forgotten about my toys for about half a year, then I went back to it and sold (currently listed) 60% of my collection. I only kept my all time favorite 3p bayverse ones like knight orion, desperado, mackron, drift, la hire, mista, nero, tc-02, peru kill, and wj prime.

I saved some space for Ironhide & Shatter
octobotimus
Probably not. I do want to get this figure for the fact it’s shatter though, loved the villian. Do sorta feel like I’m starting to lose a bit of my love for this hobby though with how 90% of 3p figures aren’t fun/enjoyable to transform anymore. And Hasbro certainly isn’t going to be giving us big figures to mess with anymore.
DominiksGeekyLife
They're fun. You just need to take your time with them, and actually think when converting the toy. It doesn't have to be done in one sitting either.
BIOMEC
Hmmm well, then maybe Red Fantasy won't be "fun" either for you, but I still want it as a display piece that can transform even if the transformation is a nightmare lol
The email thing is annoying, but I suggest you doing this… Watch the thread without email notifications

I also quickly check who did the bump, I already know what people post pictures that are usually news and who post memes or just random stuff
Wylight
You can't "bump" a thread that's already been bumped, once that's done it's just a regular discussion again. Now I don't know about you but for me it's very frustrating receiving email notifications and thinking there has been an update before realizing it's just some dude who decided to make a random comment that's not even an interesting insight and funnily enough, doesn't even engage in the conversation anymore.
octobotimus
Funny thing is, I haven’t bought any of their stuff yet. Drift looked cool but from what I heard and saw the transformation isn’t fun, so that was a skip. The others I’m just not interested enough in. Unfortunately not enough people here seem to care about fun transformations to give proper insight on metagate’s engineering either, so I just didn’t want to risk the $100+.

The real annoying thing is people pretending overly-complex and risky transformations are fine
HappyCryCat
They never claimed seeing the transformation though.
BIOMEC
Yeah I suppose, but again, I guess he just want to start a conversation, not in the best way, but "it's fine", I am not short tempered
Octo, you like fun transformations, What's your opinion on MetaGate transformations so far? I really don't think MG's Shatter will be that bad just because it's a triple changer. The designer has been very good at the engineering and ergonomics aspect of the figures so far
octobotimus
I’m pretty sure the main reason the bump is annoying is that it’s from a BS claim of having seen the transformation.
BIOMEC
People complaining about the bump are just bumping the thread "for no reason" even more lol.
I am not mad… People get angry for the most ridiculous reasons…
I think the transformation would not be as bad as people might think… if MetaGate and Unique Toys are related as some say, then I expect a transformation that may be quite elaborate but not unnecessarily complicated…
pigeonskyrat
nice bump lmfao i fr thought there was news
