I do t have an awful lot of context for this but I believe that it’s a custom using the yolopark cheetor – seems as though the makers managed to get it to transform.

Just got Rhinox and i gotta say… Prime's weapons are really underwhelming…. they're really small lol

The 3d printed upgrade parts from Ebay look so much better and are pretty well sized.

How many times is that question gonna be asked in this thread?
TF Hot Rod
Exactly
It does mostly given the fact that they can look like whatever given they aren’t real. Thankfully TFO is animated so they are going to be able to do whatever color wise regardless of if it’s realistic or not as a constraint
SPLIT LIP
I feel like that kind of falls short given, y'know, the giant robot animals thing.
I don't feel like the character having little splashes of colour makes them any more or less realistic. I chose more vibrant shades out of personal preference, but even ticked down a few notches in saturation would be plenty to give these characters visual identity. (granted, it wouldn't have really mattered given how brief and inconsequential their robot modes were anyway)
But they're all the same colour basically.
Which is weird because all the other characters in ROTB got to have colour on them, even the Terrorcon flunkies.

From your lips to Paramount's ears – they've got that new TFxJoe movie in development and it would be great if they embraced the madcap glory of the original source material, especially the color schemes. If they aren't dressed like the Village People, then they're not G.I. Joe.
TF Hot Rod
There it was a case of the early 2000's film philosophy of we got to change it for the audiences since it won't work in LA and people won't take it seriously but were long past that thinking now, people want stuff to be more like the material.
Codigo Postal
Agreed – that was probably the thinking behind it. It's the line of thought that took the variegated hues of X-Men uniforms and turned them into drab black leather for the live-action films because "colors are for kids!" and did the same for the live-action G.I. Joes.
It's ok, producers. It's a film based on our childhood toys, not Citizen Kane!
TF Hot Rod
For ROTB it's probably a realism thing or mainly I think it's the idea that whatever their alt mode colors are it reflects their robot modes and that's the main color they are. And you can mostly see that with the designs in the film, their alt mode colors are basically their robot modes with little additional colors showing up that were not in the vehicle or animal mode.
Codigo Postal
Those are magnificent – well done!
Here's the million dollar question – instead of monochromatic and indistinguishable bots, why didn't the live-action films go with color schemes like these? Much more interesting and unique, and calling back to the original series. I feel like these would have been much more popular with the hardcore and the general audience.
SPLIT LIP
Here's my Rhinox with cartoon-inspired colours. Like Primal and Cheetor I avoided just transplanting the cartoon deco onto this figure and tried to suss out a "what if ROTB Rhinox had been given colour by the same people who designed him?" I kept the bronze and added a bit of my own, and tried to keep the green relegated to parts that felt more specifically intended for robot mode.

More like weapon. And it's not a QC issue, it's a design issue. He can't hold the axe, he just doesn't have a hand that can properly grip it. It rattles around in his trigger finger hand with absolutely no grip whatsoever.
His guns and swords are just fine, I just really dislike his blasters in the movie, but the accessories themselves function perfectly.
Codigo Postal
Maybe I'm too much of a cynic! Glad if that was the case, though it seems weird to release a bot without a weapon – they gave Primal his swords, after all. I'm sure it wouldn't have blown the budget to include a rifle. But it is what it is.
Hearing the QC issues with Prime's weapons makes me less inclined to buy Rhinox now.
SPLIT LIP
I don’t think the accessory thing was planned. This line started very innocuously, with little lead up or hype. I doubt they even definitively planned to continue past the first wave, and the very low cost of the line and the more bare bones first wave characters seems to hint that. It’s also obvious that the accessories were not designed alongside the second wave characters, as they were unveiled much later, so the decision to include them was not initial. It was only because people clamoured for accessories that Yolopark eventually commented on it.
Prime’s axe being such a poor fit for his gripping hand, and the swords clipping to his wrists at an angle rather than with a proper tabbing point also speak to the weapons being a late addition.
Codigo Postal
My Prime is just prime, I just find him to be the least poseable of all three. My Primal is fantastic, but one of his forearm guards and his crotch armor keep falling off and will require some glue.
Bumblebee is the MVP for me; he's so expressive he almost seems alive. Definitely my favorite from an amazing line. If only he'd come with his weapons in the first place, he'd be the toy of the decade for me.

Is anyone else Optimus Prime have really floppy legs? I keep tightening the screws, but they just keep getting floppy again.
Hellsing
I'm probably just gonna sell prime, scourge is a 11/10, prime is a 7/10 (some loose joint issues as well, tried to tighten it)
Codigo Postal
Completely agree on both counts. I suspect it was a deliberate move to ensure we bought Cheetor and Rhinox, two characters with zero dialogue (ok, technically Cheetor had a line or two) and zero characterization. Other than completism or wanting a cool-looking figure, there really is no emotionally compelling reason to buy those two figures (now if they released a recolor to make them look more like their BW counterparts, the way some of the talented folks here have done, that would make them must-buys).
They have the right to do it, it makes sense from a business standpoint, and I still like their product, but it's a decision that leaves kind of a sour taste in my mouth.
Hellsing
I got the scourge and he is amazing, better than primo imo. Also I'm very annoyed that prime's weapons are packed with another bot
SPLIT LIP
Yeah, it bugs me that they’re already breaking up the cast.
