Magic Square Toys Weibo have been updated with our first images of the color prototype of their MS-B52 Arms Dealer Munitioner (Legends Scale G1 Swindle).

This figure is part of the new Magic Square Legends scale Combaticons/Bruticus. We have imges of robot mode, alt mode, accesories and the combiner leg mode (foot is an extra piece). This figure shows a very nice cartoon-accurate sculpt as well as a wide poseability range for a figure this size.

I think I decided to not order Swindle after all. I just realized his robot mode is wearing 6 faux wheels. SIX! That’s ridiculous. This is why cartoon “accuracy” pisses me off. I was thinking all I needed to customize away was the small fake wheel detail on the arms and the fake grille detail on the crotch, but half of the damned figure is faked. I thought the whole point was that the robots could actually turn into these vehicles.

This is no better than a t-shirt with sculpted pecs and abs airbrushed on it.

Got mine in, no time now to transform it properly but first impressions are good. Black face don't bother me much in hand by now!

I found it a PITA first time but after that it became more fluid and is fairly fun to change to and from now, just watch wheel placement going into chest, direction of arms going into jeep and make sure the steering wheel is in right place during transformation ;)

Got my Swindle, first time transforming it was NOT fun but after that its not nearly so bad, pretty cohesive overall, interesting and unusual arm stowage.

8.5/10 from me.

Alright, I've got to ask. Is there any particular reason Swindle has nine visible wheels in bot mode? The two folded ones in the back of his legs are due to transformation, and that's fine, but why does he have a faux wheel on the inside and outside of each leg? His model wasn't that jacked up in the show.

It’s kind of accurate. He had one wheel on the back of each leg that continued through the whole leg – Magic Square only replicated the ends so it looks like extra wheels.

Got mine today, so glad I waited for the toy version! Finally, a Swindle that evokes the model sheet without compromise! I liked MMC's offering, but the legs were far too greebly. This has everything just right, and I'm happy to say it isn't covered in flash either.

I really only wanted Swindle from this set, but I have to admit that he and Brawl have really won me over. Normally I'm a Newage shill, but credit where it's due, these are going in the mixed legends display and their team-mates may well be joining them!

I broke off a wheel I think. Then I dabbed a tiny bit of CA on it and put it where it belongs. Motormaster won't be a problem because he's gonna stay in Menasor from here on out.

EDIT: I'm NOT saying people shouldn't be picky, or okay with QC problems. Everyone has the right to expect better than what MS has delivered to many people. All I'm saying is that I personally don't mind.

I did the same, putting my broken-legged MM into ball-mode for going into Menasor.. I just took the original one out, because they're more or less identical. Someday, the replacement will come and maybe I'll bother swapping it lol

I wasn't trying to call you out or anything, more of a friendly PSA thing :D

I suspect the legs were drawn with the intent that the wheel is the full thickness of the leg, though I can't say for certain they didn't intend for the wheels to just be on the left side of each of his legs. MS simply made the logical assumption that the right side would be identical to the left side for the 6 faux wheels. The real wheels in his legs are showing just because even MS can only fit so many panels into their figures and they ran out to cover them. Finally the spare tire I can't remember if that was really on his back or not (I assume his back was shown at some point in the cartoon but I don't remember it).

I'm thinking the opposite when i get my swindles. All my other MS figures have the painted windows which has grown on me now.

Thanks but these are just unpainted rock formations.
Still need some paints, little rocks, sand etc.
First I wanted to go for steep cliff like stones but that was turning out to be very boring, so I am starting over now.
