Reminds me of way back in 2010/2011 when WFC game just came out. Some believe the game’s story is prequel to all different TF continuities (including the Bayverse). It’s easier to explain to those who are not into the franchise.

Hey, I got the canelo fight on and Anthony Ramos was just in a featurette that showed more of him in the battle suit next to Bumblebee in the final shot from the trailer
PixelMagic
They released a still from an updated version of this shot from the first trailer. CG looks good to me.

Unless I'm blind, I don't see anything wrong with the CGI.

CGI in general peaked peaked in the late 2000s early 2010s
Been downhill since

Definitely going to judge the vfx of the final movie based on screencaps of highly compressed YouTube video of the trailer.

Btw, I think the Greek trailer is the shortened down version which will play in cinemas.

I mean the simple fact ILM tries to treat its staff more like people and not slaves is already special compared to MPC.
That and the fact they actually understand how a robot functions, moves, and how metal is textured unlike MPC.

This. Look at all of these Optimus shots. You can clearly see which one is worse. The texture on ROTB Prime's face looks like a painting.

But that's exactly it, it doesn't have to be "glaring." The human brain is great at spotting fake shit, and if something doesn't move or reflect light properly, it looks phony and we know it looks phony.
Also there is glaring bad CGI, it was posted on this very page:
Look at ROTB Optimus' head and tell me, honestly, that isn't jarring as hell next to the rest of his body. Everything else on him has realistic weathering and reflections/shading, and then you have his entire head which looks like it's a low-res model photoshopped into the picture.

I haven't seen any glaring bad CG…so, ok. *shrug*

People are only using ILM as a comparison because that's who has handled the CGI for the TF films up until now.
ROTB looks visibly lower quality than the previous TF movie in terms of CGI. You do not need to work in the industry to appreciate convincing effects, your brain will tell you if it looks right or not. A lot of the CGI in ROTB jut doesn't look right, regardless of how much to justify it.

The more I see of this Optimus design, the more I just fucking love it. I thought Bumblebee was top tier, but the proportions on this one are winning me over. I also like that his shoulders don't have those flaps like Bumblebee Prime.
Nova Maximus
Sure in some, but that's the same for every movie, the vast majority of the CG still looks really good.
And even if there was an actual noticeable decrease in quality of all of the CGI in the movie rather than a few scenes, if that had to be the trade off for the Transformers being the actual main characters of their own movies for once like early screenings have stated I would be perfectly fine with that.

Also, the 'ILM' work that people have seen and are praising may not have even been ILM, since movies usually have several companies doing VFX.
And yeah, I know a guy who worked for ILM, moved and worked for Framestore, then moved again and works for a different division of ILM. It's all basically the same work though.
I think people knowing that this isn't ILM forming unconscious bias and they're seeing things that aren't there and they otherwise wouldn't see.

Yeah, certainly there can be production issues, notes from directors, badly managed shots, etc that can add up to problems. I can't tell you how many times I've done a VFX shot that looked pretty damn good, only to have the client request I change the shadows or add too much bloom or too much exposure, or whatever that degraded the shot. There's just a million variables that can affect output.
That said, the CG in the newest trailer looks pretty damn solid to me, so I'm really not sure what all the complaints are about, and I have a critical eye for this stuff. But yeah, there is no denying ILM's work in the first 3 Bayverse films look incredible.
