Autobot Burnout
While true, I'd like the main villain of the franchise actually be the main villain of a movie for the whole runtime.

Megs. can still be in Hoover Dam, and this still be a reboot.
Different continuities have have very similar elements.

If Megatron is in the film, I think it'll just be a tease at the end. The movie has so much going on in it that room for the Decepticons just ain't there. I still find it weird that the first movie in a trilogy isn't focusing on the main bad of the franchise but I enjoy the change of pace.
Autobot Burnout
I used to think the same about Bumblebee.
The biggest problem is…where the hell is Megatron? The main bad guy of the franchise and he, along with the Decepticons as a whole, aren't even showing up. Not a good look. All they'd have to do is have Megatron show up literally anywhere that isn't as a popsicle in the basement of Hoover Dam and the question would be settled entirely.
And Paramount won't do this.
BeanZilla
oh I do belive he is not eating earth in that scene but i still belive that this is 100% a reboot
Autobot Burnout
Then explain why the planet Unicron 'eats' has rings. You can even see one of his giant horn incisors hitting them.
Autobot N
I’m aware of that which is why it’s so confusing
BeanZilla
exactly, this is a reboot no question
Enemy
Eric
Optimus Primal literally says to Optimus Prime in the trailer that "Unicron is coming". Unicron isn't the Earth, therefore it's a reboot. I didn't think you of all people would actually agree with what bullshit Lorenzo says.
Autobot N
I mean it’s not made up, you can go look at the news articles from a few days ago
Enemy
Still sounds made-up to me. There's no chance this is in any way connected to bayverse.
Autobot N
A couple days ago in some magazine article
Enemy
Where was this said?
Autobot Burnout
Because the executive producer who is infamous for the level of meddling he does flat out said the end target was to get back to the Bayverse continuity?
I mean, this is basically the TLK sequel people wanted purely for the promise of Unicron.
Crescent
I would say that this is a great sign that this has no connection to Bayverse, but then again rewriting the history of Transformers is kind of Bayverse's thing.
We went from Autobots learning languages of Earth and culture through the internet while coming to Earth for the Allspark, to Transformers always being on Earth and the Allspark not even being a concern. I doubt that a small rewrite of "Unicron ate planets and then became sealed as the Earth" would be that much more of a stretch.
Enemy
Honestly. It's baffling how many people are convinced this is still connected to bayverse somehow.
BeanZilla
mmmmmm doubt it
Autobot Burnout
Consider the following angle, since the trailer doesn't tell the whole story:
Unicron only appears in flashbacks and that's not Earth he's clearly eating.
The Maximals are the ones who imprison him in Earth, which is why they're even on the planet – they're keeping guard or whatever.
Kickback suggested this and frankly this is how it would go for this film to still be prequel-material for the Bayverse.
