Via PrimeVsPrime on Youtube, we have our first in-hand images of the new Transformers Legacy: Evolution Deluxe Devcon.
The famous Autobot bounty hunter finally gets his very first retail figure (the first one was a Botcon 2014 exclusive). We have images in robot mode which shows a really cartoon-accurate sculpt, while alt mode is also regonizable aa s space ship but with some compromises due to the fact this this figure is a heavy retool of Studio Series 86 Blurr. We also have shots next to other modern War For Cybertron figures like Smokescreen, Blurr, Optimus Prime, and Dirge.
Check all the images after the jump, as well as PrimevsPrime review, and then you can sound off your impressions on the 2005 Boards. Don’t forget that you can still find pre-orders for Devcon and other and the latest Legacy toys via our sponsors links below.

I'm almost certain this preorder will be canceled as others have been in the past.

I emailed them last week with this exact question regarding Beachcomber, which was in the same wave.
——
I sent this:
I Preordered the Transformers Legacy Beachcomber figure a year ago today, and was curious if this was something that will actually get fulfilled? Hasbro doesn't often keep deluxes in production for a year or more at a time so I just wanted to check, thanks!
I received this:
Thank you for contacting us regarding your preorder. Great question. Upon review of this item I show it is estimated to arrive in August of this year. This would lead me to believe they have scheduled their production run with the release date. Unless we receive notification from the manufacturer saying otherwise, we are under the assumption they are still on schedule. If this changes, the listing will be updated.
Let me know if you have any questions and have a great night!

I cancelled my preorder mainly because the response didn't acknowledge any of the original estimated dates, and I did get Devcon at retail, around 10 months ago. It seems weird a whole wave would be split like that, right? Beachcomber doesn't seem to be too terribly expensive on ebay if I do 'need' one now.

Is BBTS ever going to fulfill their preorders?

Maybe I should track down Ultra Class Powerglide again, I knew A10s were big but damn…

Just got mine in today!
Damn near perfect example of what a remould should be.
And He's just a really solid figure from top to bottom.
The only thing I'd want to add to it is part to fill out the middle of the alt mode.
An extended version of the existing panel that could fold around the backpack in 'bot mode would work, I think.
Seanprime
Nice! That works well, will be doing the same once I get mine

One has to place the engine in the right position, with the nozzle sitting atop (but not fixed upon) the little 'peg' on the inside of the foot, and the engine's peg facing towards the rear of the leg. Once that's achieved, however, it's really easy to close up the leg and to flex the foot to the position one desires. And it's not a very tight fit, so there's no risk of scratching paint or stressing plastic

Sure! I should be able to post some photographs later tonight

Would you be able to post some pics of this?

I received my Devcon (alongside my Beachcomber) from Hasbro Pulse U.K. today, and the first thing I did once he was out of his box was to try this. Sure enough, it is possible to store a jet engine within each leg, and still close up the leg and move the foot. It looks a lot better than the unsightly holes, and I prefer this method of storage to mounting the engines on the outside of his robot mode, so I've killed two birds with one stone (but don't tell Beachcomber!)

I have a feeling that this will end up being a favorite of mine.

Based on the theorised core class slizardo from iguanus, that puts Devcon at roughly titan class, where he belongs.

not *entirely* true

of course that's never diagnostic
Optimus1138
He's an alien spaceship with no visible cockpit or any other identifiable affordance for passengers. He could be literally any size at all.
fartsniffer42
Designed wings for a gun, not a gun for a plane.

In case anyone thinks this guy is exaggerating:

This is exactly what I was hoping for a Devcon figure. Bot & alt mode are right on the money to me. No complaints.
Well, maybe one. He could have been at least another half millimeter taller.
Rodr-Evil
He looks very good in my opinion, he will be in my hands, no doubt.
ScorponokIsHere
it's true, most of us prefer the made-up g1 in our heads
Gee Won 1984
Exactly, I choose Voyager/Inferno size for Devcon.
