We have something very nice to share with all fellow Australian collectors. King Comics (comic store), Radio Velvet (Premium T-shirt and print brand) and Hasbro Australia have teamed up to organize the Official Transformers: More than Meets the Eye Exhibition.
The exhibition is held at Kings Comics store in Sydney from April 6th to April 30th 2023. It features a wide range of private toy collections, novel licensed products, movie memorabilia, an impressive Transformers-themed decoration, and collaboration of 6 Radio Velvet artists.
A very impressive display for any Transformers fan in Australia. Read the official press release information after the jump as well as a nice set of images of the exhibit courtesy of Pen Chan on Facebook. Click on the discussion link below and share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!
Transformers: More than Meets the Eye Exhibition
Radio Velvet, Kings Comics and Hasbro, a global branded entertainment leader, are pleased to present Transformers: More than Meets the Eye – a world exclusive exhibition, celebrating the incredible universe of Transformers, through the eyes of its fans and collectors, plus, six acclaimed artists.
Established in 1984, the Transformers toy line expanded to include comic books, animated TV series, video games, licensed consumer goods, and movie blockbusters. Today, the franchise is a global entertainment brand with millions of fans and holds a revered place in modern popular culture. The brand’s enduring connection is made possible by its rich storytelling and characters: the heroic Autobots who seek to protect all life, and the evil Decepticons who seek to conquer the universe.
Curator, Eddie Zammit has assembled private toy collections, novel licensed products, and movie memorabilia – to create an immersive experience in the lower level of Kings Comics’ iconic store in Sydney.
Six artists have been selected to recreate their own interpretation of a Transformers character.

Got time today to watch the footage to completion. Well done in putting it together. Also nice to put a face to a name.
Griffin looks like a bouncer at the front of the store.
galvatran
You sure Hasbro didn't name giant purple griffin in his honor?
theestampede
Great display. Would love to see that in person

Oh hey Michael
Tha Phantom
Yeah, he played a part in getting fans such as myself in touch with the organisers of the exhibition to have our figures on display. So I'd say that's what the "secret character" would mean.
Lord Dcast
Haha nah. He's probably the one with the closest through line to Hasbro, in terms of Aussie TF fans.
galvatran
Gotcha. The way it was penned in the FB post, thought Hasbro honoured MK by making him a 'secret character' in the Transformers universe.
Lord Dcast
MK runs ozformers, a forum that's been around for ages. Also probably has the largest collection in the world.
The one guy I don't know was the owner of Kings Comics, who had his display there as well. Everyone else coincidentally happened to be from my local friend group.
galvatran
Who is this secret character M.K. Griffin?
Lol.
Reminds me of that time someone posted a pic of swarm of Bumblebees & a lone Sunstreaker. Cheeky bugger.
Who is this one exception you speak of, oh Lord Dcast?
bearytrek
that's amazing a comic store has the room to stage an exhibit like that

HASBRO'S WORLD EXCLUSIVE TRANSFORMERS EXHIBITION
THE-TRANSFORMER
Trust me, it's like that only worse whenever we order stuff from the US to Australia. That's not even taking into account our dollar is half the value of yours.
Lord Dcast
Apologies if this comes across as self-serving, but I actually got to attend the opening night of this event for media coverage.
Also with one exception, all of the providers for the exhibition are mates and acquaintances of mine, so I can answer questions about their collections if you'd like.
