Thanks to Facebook page MN Toy Posse, we now have a handful of in-hand pics for the new Studio Series Gamer Edition WFC Voyager Optimus Prime figure.
Shown here in package and in both his robot/truck modes along with his accessories plus a truck size comparison, Prime is looking appropriately chunky and accurate to his game depiction.
Check it out and let us know if you’re interested in picking this guy up in the discussion thread!
Update: Added more pics, courtesy of TFW member cire87.

Prime is taking his sweet time. Tracking says the package was damaged and had to be repackaged, so I'm wondering/dreading in what state he'll arrive here

Barricade screams Prime Vehicon with the force of ten sun
The arm gimmick is something that should be standard in future studio series where the character support that
cyberpredicus
Yeah, Hasbro should have this guy do there product pictures.

Iamnofire do be taking the best product shots out there.

I hope they make some of the other autobots and deceptions from the games but one I would love to have made is zeta prime

The transformation on the new Prime is pleasant enough (I.E. quick) but the end result in both modes just isn't what I was hoping for. Sure, he's more accurate to the game model and that's great, but the original figure is a better overall toy. It's a shame, I wanted to love this figure. Maybe with a bit of TLC and some gap fillers, I don't know. =\

Got the old one out to play with just for comparison
Size wise, yeah new guy is fine. The matrix compartment is cool, but I still prefer the old deluxe. It's funny tho coz the new figure is alot more accurate to the game's actual chonky design

C'mon, can't they spare 2 extra panels for this?

OG has better proportioned rear wheels.

And also better bot/transformation. Its crazy how accurate they tried to place where each pieces go based off the game model. The new guy has a weird bird face that'll take some time to get used to. The detached arm having to be plugged up his butt despite there being enough space to hide it under his backpack/under his gun-arm is unfortunate.

Gave the axe to the OG. GLORIOUS!

Both are still great figures, I'm just glad we're even getting a gamer edition subline. Here's hoping for more. (New Bruticus pls)

I thought a bigger version of my first Transformer as an adult would be even better. But I vastly prefer the 2010 deluxe. Transformation is better, figure looks better, no cheats, no open spaces. They even seem to weigh the same.

But if you don't have the old toy, I think he's fine. He actually pulls off better being a cybertronian version of G1 Optimus with the flatter chest.
But the old toy pulls off better the heroic pose.
I just came to prefer that the old guy looks like a space marine. I even paired him up with a trio of WH 40k guys from joytoy.

We have been going back and forth on this Bee but we are sold now seeing your pics (even with the tolerances sounding like a concern)

You actually made him look really good in that top pic, there.
Still needs more of an abdomen, though. That's really the toy's biggest fault.

Bee actually made it to me before Optimus. I really dig him, he's gonna be part of my little deskbot duo together with Prime.

I don't usually mind fake parts to achieve better proportions, but this guy actually made me appreciate that they were trying to achieve both modes with real parts. I get the impression that they were really pushing the way this figure is engineered on a really tight budget. It even made me appreciate the beer belly proportions a little more than the in-game model because there's a real transformation process behind it.
I only have one complaint lingering in the back of my head. It's not the proportions, paint or the articulation like I expected. I don't even mind Hasbro cutting corners with paint, parts count and hollow plastic.
If this hollow, barely painted figure was at least solid and well toleranced I'd be perfectly content personally. But it doesn't feel like a solid figure in bot mode because the backpack and torso don't tab in that well.
Similar thing with the transformation. I think the engineering on this guy is brilliant, but the backpack keeps popping off because they couldn't afford a single pin more. And some of the tolerances around the collar and shoulder pins are worryingly tight (stressmarks).
I get this feeling so often with official TF toys lately. It's like the designers already try their best under a budget and then the result gets maimed one more time at the factory.
TLDR; I don't mind strict budgeting and cost cutting, but I wish the final result of that budgeting were at least as polished and well produced as possible.
But yeah, love this little guy when I'm not sitting in my armchair speculating about toy production.

Loved their dynamic in cyberverse.
