As part of the promotional campaing for Transformers: Beast Awakening (Rise Of The Beasts in Japan), the official Takara Tomy Hobby YouTube channel have uploaded a new Transformers Smash Changers Optimus Primal commercial featuring Akiko Wada.
Akiko Wada, veteran and famous singer in Japan, was recently announced as the first brand ambassador for the Transformers: Beast Awakening toyline in Japan. In her first collaboration, she presents Beast Awakening Papapa (Smash Changers) Optimus Primal in a very funny way. As usual, Japan knows how to get your attention in a commercial.
We won’t spoil the fun about the commercial (but our featured image may give you a hint), so you watch it after the jump and then share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

IKR? My first reaction on seeing the news was "She's still alive??" Older female celebs are kinda rare in Japan so it's good to see she's still going strong.

Yeah being in a household that frequently watches Japanese TV I know Wada FAR too well. The only thing she's good at doing is smoking cigarettes and explaining to the audience how to win at playing pachinko. I'm not sure why they're using her as a brand embassador… But then again the Japanese usually make odd choices for over the top commercials.

I’m thinking the same thing you can even see visible joints and also hinges on the hands which is usually for premium figures.

MPM? When I first saw this it was 50/50 on if it was a MPM or the Leader.

Good theory. Close. But not 100% there.

I heard a theory that the Primal body that Akiko Wada was using could be based on the Studio Series figure. Based on the silver patterns on Primal's body, it isn't compared to the other released figures from the RotB mainline toys we got so far.
