We have quite an unexpected sighting to share with you. Some images have surface over the internet, showing what seems to be some past Bumblebee Movie Repack toys for the Transformers Rise Of The Beasts Mainline.
We have Bumblebee Movie Energon Igniters Power Series Megatron, Speed Series Bumblebee (Camaro 1977) and Speed Series Barricade which seem straight re-released with the new Rise Of The Beasts packaging. We also have a curious black and orange redeco of Power Plus Series Ironhide as Battletrap, but featuring a movie Ironhide packaging art. All figures have got an “Autobots Unite” logo in the box, so they may be a new sub-line.
We still have not much concrete information about these toys, but you can see the images after the break and then join to the ongoing discussion on the 2005 Boards!

Can\'t help but be a tad bit disappointed in the Spark Racers/Legion class toys.

Yeah, when I first saw it, I thought it was utterly crazy, but the more I think about it, their designs are pretty similar. Even their robot modes are both somewhat brawny looking, with small arms and have their truck fronts as their chests. If they had actually given him a new head, I would say it's pretty decent. Even without one, it still far surpasses that Blitzwing from Megatron that wasn't the right build, colour or even alternate mode, regardless of that one getting a new head.

While not 3rd highest grossing film, the Bayverse films have hit some huge milestones at the box office:
ROTF was not just the 4th highest grossing film the year of release but also the best selling film when it came to home media that year (ie DVD purchases)
DOTM was the 3rd highest grossing film the year it came out (and was also nominated for 3 academy awards)
AOE was the highest grossing film the year it came out, that is still pretty amazing. It was also the only 2014 film to reach 1 billion.
Also, of all billion dollar franchises, it's the one most closely linked to toys, so it has a built in market where so much additional revenue can come from.
Hasbro and Paramount have a major vested interest in not alienating the fanbase, which yeah is costing them the confusion of some fans here, and also removing the semblance of continuity of their franchise. But they don't care. Marvel is all about continuity and that wasn't enough to keep them in the green with the latest Ant Man film.
Honestly, I think them focusing on one film at a time and just focusing on spectacle with name recognition is not a bad choice if they want to maintain broad appeal (and revenue).

The last time Hasbro used the “Autobots Unite” branding was for Walmart exclusives during The Last Knight. I expect this to be the same situation.

Only if it’s Toys R Us.

Man, it would be amazing if they thought. "So, remember those old movie & generations molds we had in the backlog? What if we brought em' back in redeco form?"
Seriously, this would be a good time to bring stuff like the older prime wars trilogy molds to do some wild stuff. Maybe bring back those generational "Then & Now" multipacks. Like Studio Series molds packs with Earthrise/Kingdom/Legacy molds.

Except kids typically don't care because they like cool toys first and foremost. And since most kids play with their toys rather than set them on a shelf and then go buy more toys they're more concerned about toys being fun to play with.
Which "SCREEN ACCURATE DOWN TO THE SHADE OF YELLOW!" isn't really a huge part of.
What's funny is this is true and most TFW users should know this unless they somehow skipped their own childhoods.

Kids of all ages know when the color is wrong, the head or vehicle mode are not the same character. And these are not for 5 year olds. That would be the Preschool line. Making simple crap cheap that kind of looks like the character is fine (which I agree most of these do, and is not the argument), but when you make it completely off like an orange Bayverse Ironhide just because you think kids are stupid, then don't expect to sell your product very much. It could have been red as a homage to the G1 colors and make sense to some as Ironhide, not Battletrap, and to treat them like that would show you don't understand kids that age, or you don't want kids to learn detail at the proper age, which turns them into the jerk kid that comes over to break your toy because their parent doesn't allow them to have nice things to learn how to use properly, to solve the puzzle of transforming, and grow into a productive member of society, and hurts their chances at becoming an engineer, etc. Main Transformers would target 8-10 year olds these are 6 and up toys so should be accurate shape, but less detail, so most are fine, this was more of a problem in the past with Transformers. Charging the same price as the more detailed version that comes out later seems unnecessary too. If they were simplified for smaller kids, why isn't it cheaper?

That Ironhide actually isn't a terrible figure to repaint as Battletrap considering they have very similar truck modes (and the facial details are too small to really matter, especially to a kid), but it's bizarre that they used Ironhide as the box art. You'd think they'd just use a stock image of Battletrap.

Damn. I just looked, it's currently 31, with Aoe a couple spots down
Yozora
Whoops, I was pretty wrong. It's the 30th, which still isn't bad, but I was thinking of it being the 5th highest at its absolute peak, which is still damn impressive
Jalen Gatton07
Wait really it's the 3rd?
Yozora
People on here need to realize that the general public just doesn't care about the quality of the films like real fans of the franchise do. Dark of the Moon is STILL, like, the third-highest grossing film of all time; stepping away from Bay completely isn't something they're going to decide on a whim.

Is it a \"re-release\" if they never left the pegs?

New characters? 07 Jetstorm repaint of Stratosphere!
TF Hot Rod
Yeah, kids aren't going to know or care that its a Ironhide repaint, and won't care that the styles are a little different. A toys a toy.
Hope the team keeps this energy for the animated films toyline.
