Makes perfect sense to me. Figures is bigger than a 3a figure, lot of extra packaging and reading material, some merch and it’s spread out over time making payment easier. A lot of people also likr building materials. Keep in mind this thing is like almost 2 feet tall too. Its expensive, but i don’t think its a waste or ripoff. Its just not for everyone

Sorry I'm late, hit a little traffic.
Uuuuuuuuuh,
So there is no way this thing is worth it by the end. After reading all the fine details about the subscription; how many assembly stages are sent out per month, the total cost of each package, the shipping and handling, yada yada, I figured out the total price and time frame for this Prime model kit.
$453.83 USD (before any potential taxes)
You'd be paying near $500 over the course of two and a half years for: One model kit, one T-Shirt, one mug, one keychain, two posters, and 30 magazines. Plus whatever other crud the service would be sending out.
Honestly – and I've seen a lot of people say it at this point – just buy a ThreeZero figure and save yourself the time, money, and hassle. As for the mug/shirt/keychain/posters; use eBay, Amazon, Mercari, Etsy, T-Spring, your local print shop, hell even Universal Studios, for similar (and better) products.
At the end of the day, the choice is yours. The novelty and experience itself could be worth it to you, and if so then absolutely do it!
But for me, I'm gonna dodge this one. Shame too, cause I'd really love this kit (not for no five-f**kin'-hundred-dollars)

"Ooohhh preeetty!"
The more I think about this Optimus, the more I want it. I have the 3A original release (1st release? Or was that Bumblebee. Have him too.) 3A Prime's like 19" Inches tall. This is supposed to be bigger than 19", correct?
T-Hybrid
Look for the "Altaya Megazord."
Here's a rough idea of how big it is. (Not my pic)

Any links? I couldn't find it. Ended up with bandai model kits or something like that (transforming miniature kits)
That's basically how I feel. I imagine being Hasbro it'll finish and be finished before it even starts with a exact amount of months (12 I'm guessing?) & cost. Plus seeing video of it when launches. Speculation of course, but Hasbro. That said im interested. I'm sure it'll better in fans hands.

Also valid points! Yeah this really does depend on price, since I don't NEED this at all, it just looks like it could be really good.
Zoo
Valid points. I like the proportions of this new guy, but I'm assuming the cost is gonna be insane statue levels when in full, which is why I don't mind the dlx. Plus that scales better with my collection and I'm not too upset with the headsculpt. That being said if the monthly cost is only like $10-20 as opposed to something like eaglemosses $50, I would probably subscribe.

Obviously I was speaking in the context of Transformers specfic fleecing of rubes and not the subscription kits that fleece £1000+ off normies to build the Enterprise D, Ecto-1 or the Titanic for several Hundred pound more than you'd reasonably pay for the more premium model kit of the same thing.
Shmoptimus Prime
DLK and the KO have a lot of proportional issues, and the headsculpt is really bad on both. This one is humongous but it does look accurate.
I agree, but that's way better than the other way around. I can add paint and weathering myself if I really want to, but I can't make the parts a different shape (except for small mods, obviously).
Zoo
Nothing XD I just alr have LS03f
GobotFool
Subscription kits have been around for ages. In no way a new scam. Best way to do a subscription kit is to wait for them to eventually offer the whole kit for a single lump sum of money. Most companies eventually do. Diagostini did with their Falcon model, Agora does with their terminator kit. It's just a matter of whether or not you think the kit is of a high enough quality to justify the immense price some cost.
GobotFool
The sculpt looks okay, but the finish looks kinda cheap to me.
Burnout00012
Then perhaps it should have stayed in the past. I can't imagine why anyone would willingly choose this method of model kit building in our modern age.
VVa
What's wrong with the DOTM version?
Zoo
Not opposed to a subscription based kit, although I quit eaglemosses gtr after realizing it's a waste of money. My main thing is that this just looks off. Would rather get the dlx ko. Someone said yolopark is working on a bayverse prime kit. If it's any version besides dotm, I'd buy instantly
Chadderbug
I believe so

So is this one of those magazine partwork model things?
Like the Ecto-1 and Titanic ones EmGo has been doing.
mx-01 archon
To be fair, this is VERY old business model. Like, pre-internet.
Long before the days of worldwide shipping and instant gratification.
VVa
Black Mamba did not fuck around with the paint on their Primes.

He looks like what I'd expect a premium figure from a decade ago to look like. Everybody gushing over this thing but I just dont find the colors that appealing. I look at the colors of my LS03F and they just pop by comparison.
