Thanks to 2005 Boards member Pixelmaster and Chefatron YouTube channel we can share for you our first in-hand images of the new Transformers: Legacy Evolution Deluxe Shrapnel.
Shrapnel is part of the new Legacy Wave 5 Deluxe and he’s got a very nice mix of G1 cartoon and toy elements on his design. We have images in robot and insect mode and several comparison shots next to other War For Cybertron and Legacy toys, including the new Legacy Kickback and the previous Legends class Insecticons.
See the images, as well as a video review, after the break and share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

I picked up a Kickback months ago when Amazon had him on sale and finally opened yesterday. I had all the originals when I was a kid but Bombshell is the only one that remains. These are perfect G1 updates in my opinion. Kickback had renewed my interest in deluxes just when that was beginning to fade.

exactly
the thing we don't like contaminating g1 is fine if it was always like that already
C16
Fangry and Doublecross always had that organic detail though.

Same here. Shrapnel, Animated Prowl, Crashbar, and Skyquake all shipping soon.
Thundershot
Ditto.
Rodimus Prime
My pulse order for the guy should be shipping soon, apparently.

Or Doublecross, from whom Fangry's most recent incarnation was retooled from (by way of Grotusque).
Especially weird when people don't typically envision dragons as being furry (Neverending Story/Eastern dragons aside).
Snakeguy
wasn't it mentioned by that Praxus leaker that Venom should be coming as a heavy Bombshell reshell or something like that?

Wooh, don’t get me wrong. I’m G1 from ‘84 all day and night. Organic looking animals as TF is not what I want or would ever buy. I need my robot animals to look mechanical at ALL times. I just think Hasbro might try to pull a quick one with Venom. It don’t wish it to be true.
Obnimaz
I have him in hand and he’s great, also not writing a review lol. He’s simply an update of the g1 figure which is exactly what I wanted out of him
Specter Sigma
Call me Beast Machines Megatron cause I’m gonna need you to keep that organic stuff away from my G1 mechanical.
WinstoBot
Yeah, I get it. Robot insect doesn’t match organic looking insect, but I still think it’s Hasbro’s easiest path. I don’t see a new mold or even a massive retool. I predict they’ll pull a strategic parts swap and match the colors.
C16
Thing with Ransack is both him and Kickback are mechanical bugs so he can pass using that mold, especially when you paint it up in a proper color layout. Waspinator doesn't get this benefit because it's an organic insect, which 100% does not fit in with any of the Insecticons.

I think they did an impressive sleight of hand with the Buzzworthy Ransack. I have it in front of me, looks nice. Other than a new head, it’s just Kickback who doesn’t resemble G1 Ransack a great deal. They pulled it off. The head and correct colors does a lot to allow our eyes to accept it. I think Hasbro will pull another trick for Venom. Honestly, a Cicada is just another winged bug to an average fan, and most won’t even realize the difference. I’m an amateur Entomologist so I would love it if Hasbro gave us the actual species, but I don’t think so.
C16
I really doubt they'd break the aesthetic just to complete the set, it would be pointless.

I know, but I always enjoy hearing the takes here from the feedback section
