And to keep the flow of news of the recently revealed Studio Series Gamer Edition toys, it’s turn of the SS GE-03 Voyager Optimus Prime figure.
Following Sam Smith posts about SS GE-01 Deluxe Bumblebee and SS GE-02 Barricade toys, now it’s turn of Hasbro designer Evan Brooks to tell us some interesting details about this new rendition of Optimus Prime from the popular War For Cybertron video game, via his Instagram account. This new Voyager mold was designed using the video game CAD model to get the right Optimus’ proportions, and they also took attention to the 2 ways the big battle axe is seen in the game and that can be recreated with the toy. To top it all, the guns included with the figures on this collection got 5 mm ports for you to combine them as you wish.
Read on for the full Evan’s comments and in-hand images of this new mold, including a comparison shot next to the original Generations Deluxe War For Cybertron Optimus Prime toy. You can then sound off on the 2005 Boards and don’t forget to look for your pre-order via our sponsors links below:

I hope you all are excited as we expand our SS line into a series of games that are near and dear to my heart. The original “War for Cybertron” has entered the fray.
We have plenty of characters that never got figures back in 2010 so please look forward to them as we continue this line!
Shout out to our engineer (not sure if they want their name known so holding it back for now.) who proposed we do this back in 2019 as we started to introduce the 86 line into SS. Certainly could never have done this without them.
This figure is brought to you by myself and the absolutely amazing Koki san over at TT.
We were able to rip the CAD from the original game to make sure we got Optimus’s very tanky proportions correct.
One of things I thought was important was to make sure he came with his iconic melee axe that he used in the game. What I found interesting is that the Axe was different depending on if it was a cutscene or if he used it in game. Because of this, we made it so the Axe itself can convert to its Halberd style or the Butterfly style by simply folding the blades.
For the weapons in game, every cybertronian’s arms would just convert to the weapon they picked up. All the right arms of the WFC SS figures can be removed to reveal a 5mm port at the elbow. (The removed arm can be stored on the back of the figure.) Our goal is to make it so (as we continue forward with these characters) you’ll amass all the different blasters from the game. Then these can of course be swapped onto any of the WFC SS figures.
Optimus also comes with the Matrix of Leadership that received in the game when becoming a Prime. I’ve included a photo of the back of the figure because I have a feeling folks are probably curious if he has the giant Autobot emblem engraved on his back. I’m sorry to say that he doesn’t…This is because of how the vehicle mode parts are stored and they didn’t leave much room for that detail, I’m sorry to say.
With all that out of the way, I hope you all are excited as we dive deeper into this beloved game series.

These guys look great, definitely hope we see more from WFC and FOC.

I'm seriously falling out of love with OP and Bee. Not that they aren't good figures, I just don't have a real place on the shelf. I may drop the preorders and wait for a sale.
TF Hot Rod
It is a beautiful vehicle mode so I would say no, not really.
Wh33ls
I still have the originals packed away… some where…
Prime is instant bought on sight! Barricade is fine, I'll have to see it in hand before I can make a decision on him. As for Bee, I'm perfectly happy with the OG, however is it wrong to just want the new Bee for the extra weapons and just leave him in vehicle mode?
TF Hot Rod
That’s the only thing holding him back yeah but still for the most part I’d say it work. Especially since as far as I’m aware there is no art of a HM Brawn design.
Fenrys
My only quibble with mixing Brawn in is his head. Looks a bit less G1y than the other 2, but yea, he could probably be fudged in as well
TF Hot Rod
I can dig that yeah.
Those were two I was thinking of yeah especially Wheeljack (the alt mode feels right out of WFC/FOC) with the less movie-like detail on the toy I think he works well, same for Arcee. Brawn I think could fudge in with them also.
Fenrys
I see it like G1. The live action movies are a "continuity family" but the Bay directed ones are a distinct continuity/timeline/universe from Bumblebee/ROTB just like how G1 back in the 80s had the toon and the comic that were both similar yet distinct universes.
I think Arcee and Wheeljack would also look good with the game bots if going in the other direction.
TF Hot Rod
Your good. Just wanted to get back on topic (that topic is worth discussing just it gets old when you see it all the time).
Not really, sounds fine to me.
Agreed, and the way I look at it is it's a soft reboot, continuity is new and different but elements form it either come over or exist in both. But yeah topic for another thread.
I think some of them definitely wouldn't look bad next to the BBM bots and cons yeah, while not exact I think they can blend in like say Sideswipe, Jazz and Optimus, Optimus I think works with them and is cool since he had a concept art for a Cybertronian design and the alt mode had heavy WFC alt mode vibes.
Fenrys
That's irrelevant considering the story of Bumblebee in incompatible with what came in the Bay directed movies, and ROTB is a sequel to Bumblebee.
On topic, I'm curious how well these game figures will go with the Bumblebee movie Autobots. I think a few at least would look really good with them.
TF Hot Rod
So…
I got a feeling Ratchet/Ironhide will be one of the next figures we get since they are an easy repaint to get the other but distance from the 86 ones. Also since Ratchet is one of the first 3 Autobots we meet and can play as in the game.
Paxtin
Ok, I'll given you that. Maybe not the "Worst" elements…But still not great.
I'll take full blame for that.
Here, let me get it back on topic…These figures are an embarrassment, and we should feel embarrassed for wanting them.
"Gamer edition"? Total cringe…Am I right?
TF Hot Rod
Ah right, I forgot.

TF Hot Rod
How did we go from WFC SS toys to the reboot-prequel discussion?
ScorponokIsHere
you can't claim that until there's a scene where a guy pulls out a laminated card saying it's legal for him to be banging your teenaged daughter
Paxtin
Sure doesn't feel like it. the BB movie was just a rehash of the 2007 film with an Iron Giant tone and less of the Bay aftertaste, while ROTB looks like a return to form with the worst elements of the Bay films.
Fenrys
Bumblebee was referred to (by Hasbro and Paramount) as the start of a "new story telling UNIVERSE", which means that it's a reboot.
TF Hot Rod
He was suspected of drug use for years, so it doesn’t surprise me.
Paxtin
I was too till people corrected me…Cheap looking, roided out, tinny headed, crap toy.
