Air Jordan 5 Transformers Edition Mark Wahlberg Sample

Mark Wahlberg of Transformers fame (and I guess some other things) is a long time Jordan Brand representative, so he gets special low (really low) run versions of the iconic sneaks. Like 1 of 5 or 1 of 1. For his Transformers The Last Knight wrap, he asked the Jordan brand for a celebratory pair of kicks. He eventually got an Air Jordan 5 in black patent leather with a grid pattern similar to OG box art, Optimus Prime colored speckles on the shark teeth, The number 84 embroidered on the heel where 23 would normally be, G1 box art on the insoles and the Autobot logo on the sole, which is also glow in the dark. It’s said that he originally wanted the Air Jordan 4 to Transform into the Air Jordan 5, functionally. I think I would have fainted if that happened.

Thanks to IG user English Sole, via Sneakerfiles, we now have a look at another exclusive Air Jordan brand Air Jordan 5 PE featuring a Transformers theme. This is a slightly different version without the patent / gloss on the main kick, different speckles on the shark teeth, and no black on the tongues, they keep the original reflective one from the AJ5. While it’s a good chance that no one reading this will ever own this or anything like it that is not customized, it’s still cool to see the TF brand represented on some OG kicks.  You can check the official pair Mark Wahlberg actually received when released via Sneakerfiles here.
