Clakeys, company specialized in custom mechanical keyboards, have updated thier website with images and information about their new officially licensed Transformers Artisan keycaps.
These are Transformers themed keycap sets for your mechanical keyboard. Each piece is hand cast and painted as we can see on this video. We have Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Starscream and Soundwave keycaps. You can order them as a set of 3 for $99.00 (you can choose which bots you want) or the complete set of 5 for $149.99.
See the first official images after the break and then let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

It's like these guys, only with Transformers:
GAUGE
How demented.
finally!!! Dead severed heads as keys you can pound your fingers on.
Let that sink in for a moment.
Spicytron
Not even the fun kind of stoned, like Bee is on a bad trip and yelling about alien pirates.
Soundwave338
For real, these look incredibly painful to press on. I can't imagine getting these even if they were reasonably priced.
Bee looks stoned…
MehWave
I dunno, maybe I\'m just a slob, but that\'s a lot of money to spend on something that\'s gonna get caked up with crumbs from your lunch.
Don\'t act like you don\'t gotta whip out the keyboard spray can.
tjmd
Not my jam, but happy for those of you that use things like this.
DubV
Slap Prime and Bee on there and those slobs’ll buy anything!

People who don’t like having fingers – more members of the claw hand lobby bringing the rest of us down. (I blame Bisk and Thermidor for this.)
Pteraxadon
Like who wanted this
galvatran
You get what you paid for.
Must be a sport how certain segment of the fandom loves to crap all over merchandise from artists (comic book, anime/cartoon, graphics, sculpture, etc).

I have never been critical of a transformers product…
… Until those damn Funko NFTs…
… and now this. This is for the person who lights money on fire for fun.

I didn't even know that keycaps were a thing until I saw this. I… don't really see the appeal. Toy eyes trigger the same anxiety in me as when real people stare over my shoulder to watch my screen when I'm just trying to relax (not sure what that says about me, but I digress). So I don't even keep my toys in the same room as my computer, regardless of whether I have anything to hide. I can't think of many mental images more unpleasant than having Bumblebee's traumatized expression staring back at me as I smother his face with my greasy finger.
Then again, that's mostly me being irrational and projecting too much agency on pieces of plastic.

That's artisan Keycaps for you… This is more the norm than the exception.
Personally… Rather make my own novelties now that I know how to.
shibamura_prime
This would be cool for like the escape key that doesn't see much use. But at that price point can we have the option to just buy one…?
Feralstorm
I love terribly overpriced novelty keycaps that can only be used on keys that are NEVER used. (unless you enjoy finger masochism and/or all the detail getting rubbed off)
wideload
There are certain things that having extra details, like hand painting, doesn't make any sense for. You will be slamming your fingers onto these and wearing the paint down. At $30 per key, that's pretty outrageous.
Also the BB key has pointy horns on it… Just why?
GavynN.X.
Obviously this goes with the Astro Boy shoes
Roadbuster25
This is cool and strange the same time. So cool to have that on your keyboard, but I can't imagine it feeling nice to tap on the key repeatedly. And over time will paint were off?
Beemer
What a terrible idea, the paint will just rub off the keys in weeks/months.
…WAIT, THEY'RE **3D**?!? Have you ever wanted to type very slowly and painfully?!
