Magic Square Toys Weibo have been updated with our first images of the gray prototype of their new Legends Scale G1 Slag/Slug.
This is a very nice rendition of the Triceratops Dinobot for the competitive Legends scale market. We have our first look at robot and dino mode. Keep in mind that this is an early prototype and we may see some changes in the future, so stay tuned with this space for more updates.
See the images after the break and join to the ongoing discussion on the 2005 Boards!

The Autobot logo was also quite suspicious

I mean…this technically isn't toon accurate since he isn't shaggy proportioned with arms down to his calves and super lanky lol.

Showz had PO up if anyone is interested….
TransformerFanatic
This looks like complete trash. The proportions are just childish and gross in both modes.
This figure is a perfect example of why toon-accurate dinobots are a flawed idea.

I was wondering if it was just me that felt funny about the head. Just like 2% smaller pls.
Phase Sixer
Just as humans have different proportions, so too do robots. Quit proportion-shaming Slag.
TIKnTIN
that alone made a significant improvement. i think even the head doesn't look too big anymore!

You would need to accommodate for the rear legs since you’ve extended the front legs. I think this means his botmode legs get larger or longer?
Illiterate Scholar
I do agree that his arms look stubby and short in the default design. Sadly, with the prototype ready, I doubt MS will make the torso longer, cause your edit does look better.
bignick1693
It’s looks to be a hybrid of toon and toy because those greebles are on the original G1 toy.
OCDChad
looks like they added inaccurate greebling

The arms look short because the torso is also short. Here's a rough edit of how it would look if the torso and arms were a bit longer. View attachment 29849595

Small arms? Nah they reach below waist so they are fine imo. It's probably the large wings behind that make them look small.

I had to look pretty hard to try to see your perspective, I think you feel like they’re stubby looking, maybes? Hard for me, I see a clear shoulder, bicep, forearm and hand, and they're proportional, you don’t want them going past mid thigh…
Manba201
The robot arms look rather small on this and it's even more noticeable in Dino mode.
