Thanks to 2005 Boards Members prfctcellrulz and Pixelmaster, we now have our first look at Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Mainline Voyager Rhinox and Optimus Prime.
Not much is known about the figures but it is clear that Optimus Prime is based on his [awesome] Hasbro Control Art. Rhinox on the other hand is a retool of his Kingdom version.
Update: Thanks to the detective job of Jtprime17 we now know that these figures are part of Wave 2 of the ROTB mainline. Wave 1 includes Voyager Optimus Primal and the same Optimus Prime. The delay of the movie has caused multiple waves to be produced and ready to go at the same time.

For what this is and being a more budgeted line they did a good job on him. But thats the version I'm looking forward to and likely going to get.

Really like how they got around the problems of ss38 and incorporated an evolution of ER Primes transformation. There is reason to be optimistic for studio series rotb prime.

The more I look at this, the more I want it. Like for what it is, I like what I see. And I like to see what a figure can do with its obvious limited budget.

This mainline prime is low key underrated. I thought it would be cool if ROTB prime can borrow some transformation steps from ER Prime so it can be better than ss38 (no arm truck kibble, better torso silhouette etc). The designers actually IMPROVED on some aspects of ER Prime's transformation. They made the bumper with wheels less obvious on the front view of the robot mode and they managed to simplify the truck grill transformation. They did simplify some aspects though to the detriment of the figure.

At that point just get the Buzzworthy SS ROTB Prime that is coming.

Hoping some 3rd Party company makes an OS knockoff of this to regular (or even pre-WFC) voyager size (17-18 cm tall), and that swapping out the waist and legs with those of a SS38 (or knock off, don't want to butcher my SS38) is viable. Want an upsized torso/truck cab of this coupled with the truck bed (and weapon storage) of the SS38. That with a little paint would make this thing a damn fine Optimus Prime toy.

I haven't painted a movie figure in years. I'm gonna go all out on that optimus. Paint all the gray silver bronze ect. Panel lining. A pretty metal blue. Is this figure out?
