Via Momoshop webstite we have our first stock images of th e new Transformers Authentics “Alpha” Starscream.
Found in Taiwan at the beginning of the year without any official announcement, this 7-inch figure comes in the new Authentics open-window box and looks pretty similar to the Authentics Titan Changer Starscream bnt this mold features several differences like the null rays, legs and deco. We have now official images of the packaging, robot mode (mistransformed) and alt mode.
See the new images after the break and then let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

That would be a good idea, especially since they could label them as "Cyberverse -Name of character-" in Legacy or something of that nature.
It would also be nice to see more Authentics molds in the future. If i learned anything from that line, some of those toys are surprisingly good for what they are. Megatron with his crazy amount of articulation (especially his Alpha Variant with his waist articulation which gives him some serious leg articulation.), Optimus with his simple, but effective transformation, yes, he has the oddest decision of having no arm articulation in the bravo mold, and not giving his faux cab backpack some 5mm holes. That mold had some crazy potential for accessory storage because of that big chunk of plastic alone, which was a missed opportunity in my eyes. Plus Grimlock & Shockwave aren't too shabby either.
Plus that line has quite a lot of potential for what it is. It was a long way to go, but being a budget line it consists of some the most interesting molds i ever saw for better or for worse.
But yeah, that Bumblebee design deserved better than the disappointment that are those authentics molds. They coulda just based the transformation on that one RID2015 legion Heatseaker mold, but they didn't. That was a blunder from their part, especially since these molds are designed to be released yearly.

I'd really like to see good Generations figures of the Evergreen designs. Been wanting that ever since they were first revealed, Bumblebee especially.
CobraKai
Yeah. Even some of the one step changers gave my youngest some trouble
T-Hybrid
Bravo had it *because* he was smaller.
It's also a fantastic line for younger kids who want big robots like their parents and siblings but don't have the coordination just yet to fully enjoy modern Generations of the same size.
And yes, that's a thing. If kids get frustrated with the transformations they'll move on to other toys.

I recognize this Starscream…it\'s the evergreen design from POTP and cyberverse. I think they should just go on and make an actually good generations version because they been pushing this design for awhile now.

Having worked on a few professional product photography shoots, I feel like what probably talented is that they weren’t given instructions and had maybe three minutes of prep time budgeted in before they had to move on to one of the 60 other things they had to set up and photograph that day.
The Happenin Rhinoceros
It's extremely unusual for me to be critical of one like this. I definitely get that triangle and receive no end of amusement to the people that bash paint apps and articulation in dollar store kids toys. The solid white from the chest down to the feet just looks really weird and comes across looking like a mistake more than intention. With the other red paint apps, it just seems odd that they didn't do the hips.
That is an excellent point. I wish these had been around when I was starting out, that would have been a real boon. I cut my teeth on an $80 oversized MP Grimlock and I have to say…it was more than a little nerve wracking!
Damn…now I want to buy this just to see how good I can make it look, lol

This made me laugh more than it really should have.

As far as Authentics are concerned I’m STILL hoping to get Shockwave

This line does have some mighty potential for some redecoes. Heck it be neat if some molds get retooled with more 5mm compatibility & new accessories. Like Prime getting his ion blaster, Wheeljack getting an immobilizer or a wrench, Maybe even Grimlock getting his sword. Maybe cast in clear red (Autobots) or purple plastic (Decepticons.)
IDWDrift
His arms are in a different position in the box compared to the image.

The should have been padding the smaller size's waves with Starscream repaints rather than just adding one new one when they feel like it.
We could have had Skywarp and Thundercracker as well years ago.
I think I read some where there is a Nemesis Prime due, unfortunately most of the Authentics Optimus Mould are very poor. So perhaps they will have another go.
To be honest it might be a better use of their time doing something with the Legion/EZ class moulds that is a bit more interesting.
They have plenty of potential repaints in theose mould such as : Red Wing, Detritus, Other Tank Megatron colours, Actionmaster or Black Starscream, Various Bumblebee repaints, a whole bunch of Shattered Glass characters, Delta Magnus, Ricochet, Nemesis Prime, Payload, Treads, & that is without even getting into the live Action Movie moulds or characters who suit that size who didn't get a mould like one from Aramada.
It seems like such a long time ago since the likes of The Last Knight Hotrod or the slightly larger Bee Movie ones.
Gryph
It's larger than a core class and costs less.
Blitz.
I mean I can't really disagree that this is hot trash, it's supposed to be the most cost cut version of a full sized figure so yeah, mission accomplished.
Terror of space
This is garbage…
how did we get something like this when we have been getting more acticulation from a core class.
Gingerchris
I've got all the others so far and enjoy them much more than I probably should. I'll be looking forward to adding Alpha Starscream to the team.
Now we've got the usual suspects taken care of, I'd love to see things branch out a bit more. Just give me the other Seekers maybe, a piece of pish to do Thundercracker and Skywarp, and not hard to change the wings for the coneheads, even if maybe they don't actually have their cone heads. Gimme that Ratchet mold as Ironhide and Bumblebee is an easy recolour into Cliffjumper.
But then who else as all-new molds? The rest of the Dinobots perhaps? That'd be neat.
skunkobot
The heck? That boxed prime doesn’t match the images on the back. He has ball jointed elbows.
