Via Magic Square Toys Weibo we have our first images of the gray prototypes of their upcoming Legends Scale Onslaught, Swindle & Vortex.
These reveals complete the new Magic Square Toys Combaticons group following our previously reported Brawl and Blast Off images). We have a look at Onslaught, Swindle and Vortex in robot and alt mode showing a detailed and solid sculpt. We still have no concrete information on price, release date or images of the combiner mode, but stay tuned with TFW2005 for more updates.

I did try screwing them in further but it was unsuccessful because the size of the screws used on the grey feet are too large.

I noticed this too, I just assumed that the screws hadn't been screwed in all the way!

for sure it’s a dick move, im not going to support that by double dipping despite how much i want the toy feet, would love to boycott them altogether but damn do i love their engineering and aesthetics lol

MS has made several d* moves, but the way they release their Combaticons is not one of them, IMO.
Of course, there are still three members to screw us over.

Swindle might be one of my favorites in my collection period. Havent had this much fun flipping a figure back and forth since Roadking
Phase Sixer
I have to say I’m disappointed with how many people are showing support for MS’ dick moves by doing what they wanted and thus ensuring they do it again.
Ah well, I think I’m almost at my “straw that broke the camel’s back” moment with them anyways, I’m not really having fun collecting them any more with all their already existing issues and now their new marketing strategy.

Just got my IDW / Toy version of Swindle in and found a strange discrepancy between him and the G1 / Toon release. The screws on the IDW combiner foot are larger and actually slightly extend out of the screwhole. The notches have been slightly stripped, leading to some sharp edges that the foot rests on. Interestingly, I found the same difference between the two feet options for Brawl. In the hopes of preventing any surface scratches / damage, I removed the screws and will likely just glue the pieces in place.
Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

Swindle is pretty complex, I feel more complex than he needs to be and mopre complex than Brawl, but it can be figured out without instructions, just takes some time.
I do like him a lot though. The set is looking good so far

Some quick pictures! Swindle's transformation felt a little overly-involved for the end result, but I can't complain. I wanted a Bruticus I could play with guilt free so as long as it can hold up to some back and forths, I'll be happy. They're just so adorable. Swindle needed a grey face for some color breakup, but the face is so small in person, I wasn't too terribly bothered.
Onslaught and Vortex? Bring them on!!

The way the light is hitting his chin it almost looks like his classic shiesty grin.

What to do when double dipping and waiting for your teammates? Race hard of course!

And yes, you can use Nemesis Prime his hands for Swindle as well.

Yo dawg! I heard you like wheels!

Options are… pizza bagels?

I found it a PITA first time but after that it became more fluid and is fairly fun to change to and from now, just watch wheel placement going into chest, direction of arms going into jeep and make sure the steering wheel is in right place during transformation

Got mine in, no time now to transform it properly but first impressions are good. Black face don't bother me much in hand by now!

Thanks, I can never seem to find those when I look for them.
Jaguaratron
Got my Swindle, first time transforming it was NOT fun but after that its not nearly so bad, pretty cohesive overall, interesting and unusual arm stowage.
8.5/10 from me.

It’s kind of accurate. He had one wheel on the back of each leg that continued through the whole leg – Magic Square only replicated the ends so it looks like extra wheels.
Acteon
Got mine today, so glad I waited for the toy version! Finally, a Swindle that evokes the model sheet without compromise! I liked MMC's offering, but the legs were far too greebly. This has everything just right, and I'm happy to say it isn't covered in flash either.
I really only wanted Swindle from this set, but I have to admit that he and Brawl have really won me over. Normally I'm a Newage shill, but credit where it's due, these are going in the mixed legends display and their team-mates may well be joining them!
