I want to not not like this, but…it is a powermaster prime and I will never dislike a powermaster prime.

This is one of those pieces where I love the design, and the construction of it is astonishing, but it feels more like a super-armored Gundam than a Transformer to my eyes.

A glorious piece of sculpture, but for that money, I’d need it to hew more recognizably to the character to personally justify the cost.

I'm saying Nizzi's looks more like Jetwing than G1 Powermaster Prime. And Powermaster Prime without a Powermaster is just Optimus Prime with guns and wings…which is what Jetwing is.

To say Nizzi's doesn't look different enough from Jetwing Prime because of the PowerMaster missing is a bit silly.

I'm saying Nizzi's looks more like Jetwing than G1 Powermaster Prime. And Powermaster Prime without a Powermaster is just Optimus Prime with guns and wings…which is what Jetwing is.

Besides, JW and PM Prime don't very much look alike. Aside from it being, well just Prime.

If we're comparing Jetwing and G1 Powermaster Optimus Prime, I'd agree with you. Which is why Nizzi's doesn't look like Powermaster Optimus Prime.

I was looking up Nizzi's older work and I found the Exoarmor concept from 2008 that seems to have evolved into the Powermaster Statue, also I learned Nizzi designed Willem Dafoe's Goblin Glider and outfit

Yeah! I remember those old optimus concepts. The trailers abilities is remarkable

I guess…if regular Prime's stacks were double-cannons, he had red eyes with cannister cheeks, had an engine attached to his belly and his body was formed from his trailer with his cab tucked into his chest?

The statue almost passes for a take on "Optimus Prime with Apex Armor" or "Jetwing Optimus Prime". But since there's no Powermaster, it shouldn't be called "Powermaster Optimus Prime".

Note that I have a similar beef with Titans Return "Powermaster Optimus Prime", but I give it a slight pass for at least having a Headmaster as a stand in. Takara's Super Ginrai was retooled to evoke a faux Hi-Q in the belly…so it really does the better job out of the two.

Powermaster in name only…for brand recognition and hopefully to increase sales? Looks kinda cool though but using that word makes little sense other than to dip into nostalgia from what I\'m seeing. I\'d like to be wrong.

While I do still quite like this design, I do think it could be slimmed down considerably, plus.. a few more elements of his Powermaster design (Including the Powermaster itself) would be great.

I think it looks fine as is. It's a statue. He can be as insane and bonkers of a design as he wants and I think it works super well.
