Coming to us via CL Hobby Facebook we have our first loot at a new Transformers Authentics “Bravo” Optimus Primal.
Found in Taiwan retail, this is a completely new Optimus Primal mold in a scale similar to the core class toys. It’s sculpted after his original Beast Wars cartoon design and includes 2 guns which can be held in his hands or mounted on his shoulders and he transforms into a gorilla. He comes packaged in a small box with a style and art similar to the Authentics Titan Changer Optimus Primal and it seems to fit in the Authentics Bravo scale (4.5 inches).
Stay tuned for more updates and now see all the mirrored images after the jump and sound off your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

No idea. But it was mentioned earlier on.

This primal is deluxe scale and simplified version of kingdom Primal.

loving this cheap and cheerful line

Any theories on why his elbow articulation looks like it got neutered somewhere between the box renders and final production?
Back of the box shows clear cutouts to allow the ball peg to bend. The toy looks like those have been filled, and you’re only gonna get some minor wiggle out of them.

You can tell by the engineering that this was always intended for authentics. Plus it looks like classic BW Primal, not the RotB version in any way.

Authentics releases typically don't cross over into main lines, so I'd really doubt that.
Sixshot the six changer
I feel like they made this for ROTB but the movie hasn\'t come out yet so they just dumped it in the authentics
maloney4playz
probably a pretool for ROTB core class optimus

Admittedly I only have the Authentics Barricade and Grimlock, but I'm quite pleased with them. In terms of size, Barricade's roughly the height of Earthrise Cliffjumper or Buzzworthy Goldbug.
But I also think it depends on who you get. I saw Optimus, Megatron, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Barricade and Arcee, and of them the ones I thought were alright were Megatron, Grimlock and Barricade. The others have very limited articulation and/or problems standing up due to very hollow legs (that don't even have heels to help them stand). They aren't bad for small, cheap toys to play with smaller kids (I got Grimlock for my niece to play with, for example).

Ooh this looks good for an Authentics release. Might pick him up if I ever see him

Wheeljack and Arcee have been getting a lot more attention in recent years thank Primus. They both deserve to be right up there with the "big 7".
This Primal is not half bad for being a budget figure. I like it.
SPLIT LIP
Nah, BW guys were much smaller than that. Megatron in his Transmetal body was smaller than a Core class relative to Optimus, so Primal's season 1 body would've been at least half that height.

I hope we get a cheetor like this too.

Ohhh, I though because he had other Authentics figures, it excuses him from Bravo, as it is in scale.
Vector Oracle
Grimlock or Soundwave, judging by the Authentics lineup.

Who's the 7th?

This is not as awful as it could be. That’s a win in and of itself.
