Third party company Newage Toys have updated their Weibo account with images of the color prototype of their upcoming H53 Michael (Legends Scale Omega Supreme).
This Legends scale Omega Supreme will stand about 28/29 cm tall in robot mode, featuring an impressive range of poseability as we can see from the photos. Rocket base mode includes a battery-powered tank that can go along the tracks. Transformation is pretty innovative since the rocket mode doesn’t need to be disassembled in two as other toys, but its one piece that transforms into the complete arms and shoulders to be connected to the main body. A very impressive piece for sure and the biggest Newage release to date.

No probs. It's very easy, but some tips if you go for it..
1) get a very fine brush (ie super thin), but the longer bristles work better (like 1cm ish) because they can hold more water and will flex as you drag it through the panel lines instead of being too short, and flicking drops around if you pull out of the groove accdentally.
2) use any acrylic model paint like Vallejo, Citadel, Revell etc. But put about 2 drops of water for a 1 drop of paint and mix with a toothpick. Nothing scientific here, just get an eye dropper and add drops of water until you seem to have very black (or grey or whatever) water, rather than watery paint.
3) once watered down, dragging your brush through the panel lines should magically paint only the inside of the groove. If you find you're getting paint overlapping, or it's not looking clean, you probably didn't water the paint down enough. If you overly watered the paint, then you'll probably just get a dirty chalky looking line and just need to do another pass or add more paint to the mix. It can also help to 'pre-soak' a panel line only with water on the brush, then when you add pigment to the brush, the color from the brush will race along the areas with water… not necessary, but it helps sometimes with super thin panel lines (of which there are none on this Omega), since you don't have to drag the brush around as much.
4) any mistakes are no problem, just rub with a damp paper towel or even your finger. Watered down paint is easy to remove.
Otherwise, for painting the other bits metallic, the only tip I have is pre-paint in a full coat matte grey first, before doing the metallic, helps make sure it'll look even. Metallic paint can be cloggy, so water it down a drop or two, but if you don't prepaint the area, you sometimes get the nice metal sheen, but with the original color kinda tranlucently getting through which looks weird (like the yellow of Omega's tank cannons.)

Thank you- that looks terrific… I’ve never panel lined anything before but will think about giving it a shot if I go for that version.

I had the same problem.. I would have bit on a metallic version in a heartbeat, if they had made one, that would have pulled out the panel detail and given specular highlights etc that would have accentuated the detail that is there. Alas.
I also think I love the dirty look, but it would clash with the rest of my guys and I can't justify a whole new shelf of dirty newages. I would say definately stay clear of the EX if you think this mold is too plain, since it doesn't have the glossy look of the toon, lacks the transparent chest panel that gives it depth, the tracks color make the detail pop even less, and generally feels much more flat in color (despite the reflective face).
If you have a little confidence with a brush you can panel line and add some metallic detail to some of the greebles on the toon version and it goes a long way… see my post here.

Sorry for jumping in a bit blindly here! Two quick questions on this guy –
1) Are there any arguments for or against the weathered version over the original? I’m torn…
2) What are the chances we might see a green version like Pangu did?
This guy looks great so I’m thinking of picking him up, but he is more simpler (smooth/less details) than most of my collection. So I think the weathering could make up for that – but don’t have other heavy weathered figures in the collection either. I’d put him next to Studio Cell’s Pumpkin and am wondering which would go best.
Thanks!

No doubt! I still have the battery! I have a really tiny Christmas tree…might set him up in front of it next holiday season.

Yeah these little batteries are meant to run watches, not motors.
Akiraman008
Fair enough lol I just like to see the little tank roll around longer than 5 minutes

I bought a Duracell battery just to make sure the mechanism worked…ran it for a couple minutes and then took the battery back out, lol. Given how tiny the battery is, I have to believe even a high-quality battery is going to provide pretty limited run-time. This guy will probably spend 95% of his life in bot mode in my collection anyway. That said, I wish they would have designed it for a more common battery type…like a couple of AAA batteries or something. I know space is limited within the tank mode, though.

It's probably because I'm using the ones from the cheap 5 pack
Jazzymouse
I've had the same battery in mine since I got it a year ago and it's still working.
Akiraman008
How long does the battery last? It died pretty quickly
Hicks_Royel
Agreed, this is in Spreem colors would do well enough as my MP ActionMaster.

I so want someone to post an April 1st review where they complain about getting a Newage 'Z' figure that's clearly been used when the listing said 'new'. Cut to them pulling out the normal edition of the figure talking about all the time and effort they put into cleaning and touching up the finish.
