Continuing our Rise of the Beasts-themed morning it appears we now have our first look at the Smash Changer Optimus Primal figure, as it’s reportedly been found in Turkey. The photo in question shows the toy packaged in robot mode, along with an image of its gorilla mode on the side.
Update: Upscaled and cleaner image added plus a new image showing the back of the box.

I usually hate these sort of figures for being overpriced and looking like crap in one or both modes, but this one is actually alright! Looks decent in gorilla and robot mode. In some ways I prefer this design to the movie version- the gorilla having more fur, the blue on the robot mode chest and head. I probably wouldn't get it for myself, but it looks good for donations or gifts.

Yeah it’s seems spring loaded. At least with the Optimus Prime one, you “smash” but really tap the toy 3 times. 1 pops the arms out. Another stands it up. The final pops out the head.
This totally doesn’t look like the movie version. I wonder if this was a Buzzworthy version of Primal initially

Perhaps I missed it with the Optimus… but how and/or what… does the smashing do? Is the transformation spring loaded? Are kids going to be asking their friends if they wanna smash and not break out the Gamecube controllers?

Nice, looks pretty solid for a little kid's toy. And I like the colours used for the toy, it really makes him pop out.

I mentioned this on another thread. Quite a lot of ROTB gimmick toys have arrived in various countries worldwide. In fact, all the known gimmick toys for the line are in US warehouses. Some countries are misinformed or does not adhere to embargoes/street dates. So, with toys already distributed, you are going to be seeing a lot of such "leaks" before the actual street date.

SS is getting a Leader, but the ROTB mainline is getting a Voyager Primal.

The SS version will be a leader class. But many people do not want to spend that much so a decent substitute will be the mainline Voyager. I know many people will get that as the replacement.

Looks great. I spy a mouth. Wonder if we’ll see that in the movie or if that was only a thing for the concept art.
This also has me hopeful that they’ll add a few splashes of blue to the CGI model. Perhaps it’s already there and we simply haven’t been able to see it because of the lighting. I did get the sense there was a slight blue hue to Primal’s helmet in the football video posted yesterday.
