Made of 1oz pure silver, this coin features the strong and mighty leader of the Dinobots as seen in the 1984 series, The Transformers. Grimlock is in full colour, posing in a powerful stance, which stands out strikingly against the mirror-finish background. The Transformers logo and year 1984 have been engraved and frosted. The obverse bears the effigy of Queen Elizabeth ll, confirming the coin as legal tender.
Officially licensed, each coin is presented in an impressive, custom-designed box featuring Transformers-themed imagery. Printed on the back is a Certificate of Authenticity and the coin’s unique number in the limited mintage of 3,000.

Wait, what? Peter Jackson is NOT royalty in NZ?

Much like collector plates, these things will only go up in value.
dragon
Have prime and megatron coins unless they make trypticon and devastator be nice see unicorn and cybertron get some recognition I won’t be buying any more coins from them
Zordonsage
Better decide which coing I want. I only want one. Not a coin collector. I do Have the Pawn stars Old Man & Chumlee coins though.
Sunbow Prime
He was in the cartoon in 1984.
G.B. Blackrock
Yeah, you'd have to take that up with the laws of New Zealand (or perhaps Great Britain).
tfwmongrel
Well if it makes you feel better this coin also commemorates the year she died so
Sentinel
I doubt I’ll splurge and get this, but I did order Prime and Megatron and they didn’t charge tax or shipping and it was delivered from NZ to Missouri in under 72-hrs. The display package is great and the coin itself is rather nice. It would be great to get the set, but… it doesn’t transform, you know??
GrimLocke
I would prefer no monarchs or other political figures.
A Kiwi bird would've been cool, tho.
Or Peter Jackson!
Optimus Clyde
I have no problem with the queen on the coin. What is throwing me is the coin says 1984 when Grimlock didn't appear until the following year. Grimlock wasn't even around yet.
WishfulThinking
Some millionaire needs to buy several thousands of these and then put them into actual circulation as 2-dollar coins.
MegaMoonMan
Yeah, that ruins the whole thing. It's not like I would ever want one to use as legal tender. I suppose since it comes from a mint it has to be that way.

Would you rather have King Charles III?
That aside, is this like illetrally printing free money for NZ?
GrimLocke
I was interested in this until I saw Queen Elizabeth on the other side. .^.
It's still very cool looking, tho.
Grimlock_13
Well, I’m definitely going to need to figure out how to get one of these.

New Zealand Mint has a date for their new release in their Transformers 1oz Silver Coin line.
As advertised in their 'coming soon' section, Grimlock will be made available in their website on December 20th. No active links as of yet, but a quick online search does return some pics showing Grimlock in one of his classical G1 poses.
The Dinobot leader therefore joins the NZ Autobot line, outnumbering the Decepticons 3-to-1.
Update: Official images and listings.
