Via Dr Wu Weibo account, we can share images of the color prototype of their DW-E14 Energy Dragon (SD Trypticon).
This is a very original take on the classic G1 Decepticon base in a 10-cm tall super deformed or “chibi” style which even includes a non-transformable Full-Tilt drone. Trypticon can transform into a cute dinosaur mode, city and battle station mode but Dr Wu surprises us with an extra 4th mode. He can transform into a small cube, an “Energy Cube”.
We still have no concrete information on price or release date, but stay tuned with TFW2005 for more updates. You can see all the mirrored images after the break and then let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

I'm not worried about budget.
I was just curious because that seems short, but it is a retool of an existing molds.
I'm also going to have to find him a home.
I usually try make space on my displays before the figure comes out… but my house is disorganized at the moment

They're a 3rd party Transformers company… they either will or they won't. Especially that time of year release dates become very wobbly d/t impending Chinese New Year. Fortunately these are pretty cheap releases so if it's a surprise later down the road it shouldn't hit the pocket book too hard.

ShowZ has Gigastorm for preorder with a date of January 2025
This will only be my 2nd Dr. Wu purchase, how are they on hitting those dates?

Ah, ok. I knew what the redeco'd trypticon toy was… but when I saw the reference there between g1/SG… I was like, eh, it's the same toy… lol

same here.

That page is for the SG version, which was armor used by Megatron. The original Gigastorm was an upgraded form of Megastorm: Megastorm – Transformers Wiki

Sorry, I understood what you meant. I was surprised the original Dr. Wu Trypticon was being reissued. I wanted the original deco and completely missed that a new pre-order went up on ShowZ.
I'm not really familiar with this new remold. Horns and colors are the only differences I could spot.

By not get, i mean i dont know what is this new Trypticon. It looks like the same as original, but has horns on the head? Sorry, what else is different? Cant tell if tail is longer or same, but looks similar.
I am considering finally getting the original darker version, but will wait to see more on the new one.

Really? I skipped out on the first one, but I kinda want one now to go with Metroplex.

I'm using TR Trypticon with my Wu figures, but I'll definitely pick up this Gigastorm. The scale is a little wonky since everyone in BW/BWII is tiny compared to the G1 guys (like, Gigastorm should technically be shorter than, or maybe around the same height as, Optimus Prime), but it works well enough for me, especially if we eventually get other BW/BWII figures in the future (which I expect will be scaled up to around the size of the G1 characters).

I dont get this new Trypticon, but Show Z has the original one back on preorder…
