Via Baidu we have our first in-hand images of the new Transformers Masterpiece MP-56 Trailbreaker for your viewing pleasure.
We have our first look at the packaging, his realistic Toyota 4WD Hi-Lux camper truck, instructions, collectible card, robot mode and some extra images which give us an idea of the clever transformation sequence. A very nice addition to the G1 Masterpiece line.
See the new images after the jump and share your impressions on the 2005 Boards. Trailbreaker should ship soon and you can still get yours via our sponsors links below.

Too much of a good thing.

I think we'll definitely get the blue, yellow maybe if they are determined to get 3 uses out of Hoist and Trailbreaker each
Snakeguy
I wonder what are the chances of some daiclone repaints getting done from this. It'd probably look pretty good in yellow…

This figure is just absolutely wonderful. I'm replacing Xtransbots Aegis with it, and while in comparison there's nothing really wrong with that figure, the Masterpiece one just really nails the cartoon aesthetic.

The Barracuda
Okay, either I'm an idiot or I'm missing a crucial step getting him back into truck mode. I can't get the camper to align with the cab. It's on a slight angle upward as if the arms or guns or something else is preventing it from going that last little bit. Really frustrating aspect of a pretty good figure. Anybody else having this little issue?
Nevermind, got it! Had the small shoulder joints turned around…
Bubblegunner
Apparently, some pieces have the insides of the shoulder cannon chromed. Looks like it makes the two halves too thick to close up cleanly.

…Optimus…
Really appreciate the help! Will give it a look tonight.

I have Mmc version… debating this. Trailbreaker was never a favorite of mine. Elements of 56 I like, some I don’t. Price is nuts.
artimus prime
He's fantastic! He is THE Trailbreaker!
He's rockin' the dad bod and it makes me like him even more. It just reminds me that the only Autobot made for the war was Optimus Prime. The rest were normal people bots from all walks of life that were forced to fight for their planet.

Trailbreaker exudes happiness but suffers from depression. He's outta shape, slow, and an energon guzzler. He frequently feels like he's a burden to the Autobots. So he resorts to "liquor."

I swore I wasn't gonna get it, but I'm glad I did. Really good articulation, very dynamic, well-painted, nice accessories etc. Glad I didn't wait for the KO (my wallet, less so).
Crossbonesss
is he any good? Really considering getting him

The gap between the truck/cab is intentional.
As for the doors. There are two things to check when transforming back.
1. the doors themselves are pivoted on the rivet upwards enough to align correctly.
2. the slider that the door goes in/out on is CLICKED back in all the way. If you open the door slightly you will be able to see if it is or not.
Doing both steps will ensure perfectly aligned doors in truck mode.

…Optimus…
Transformed him both directions, back to truck without instructions. He’s a really nice figure – a good balance between the more old-school MPs and the newer, finicky, panel-y models. Trailbreaker has some of the best articulation of the entire line and holds together very well in both modes. Fun to actually handle and transform, not just look at.
Small visual annoyances: Truck mode gapping between cab and topper, hard to get all the seams to line up horizontally in a straight line (likes to sag a bit around the doors). In bot mode, side view of the chest looks awkward, especially against the basically perfect toon legs.
All around, I like him a lot. Nice addition to the line.
XXLMagnus
So can he just not look up with the limited neck articulation?? I also remember a YouTube comment mention a common backpack missed transformation step from alt to bot mode?

All it lacks is the BOOM!

Lovely!

Got mine today, but I've been laid low by the winter bug that's doing the rounds, so I haven't done much with it as I feel like crap. I did free the arms up though (sanded a little at first, but got impatient and just forced them in the end, with minimal plastic warping). This thing has some crazy articulation, that's for sure! Bags of personality too!

Haha yes, definitely. VERY important to follow the direction of the arrows in the instructions.
