Thanks to Sonic Bomber-Core on Facebook we now have our first look at the upcoming Rise Of The Beasts Deluxe Airazor! The images in question show the figure off in both her robot and beast modes.
As we can see from the images, Airazor is still recognizable as the classic Maximal warrior but with several modern updates. It was a not so radical change as it happened with Transformers live-action Starscream. Beast mode looks very realistic and detailed and pretty compact, leaving almost no visible robot mode parts.
Update #1: Additional images in both modes from different angles added.
Update #2: New comparison size images next to Kingdom Airazor, Energon Divebomb, Studio Series 86 Ironhide, and more.
Check it out after the break and let us know your first impressions on the boards!

I mean, his case is kinda justified considering he's an animal with robotic bits, rather than the other way around.

I don't suppose this is how to correctly yield a battlemaster

Well, the fun didn't last long, already broke the 2 tabs that allow to peg the wings to the back in robot mode…

Found one at retail a couple days ago, along with Bee and Battletrap. Well made, but ultimately boring. I still prefer the mainline Airazor I got a few weeks ago. Nicer overall look in both mode and a more creative transformation.

This is just all wrong

What I want to know is how they managed to screw up and make the design so bad… when they had it so good.

That's because both deluxes are for relatively the same audience (core boys).
However, the Rise of the Beasts line also has toys which are only 1 step, or smash and change toys, and other simpler toys, which can interest parents of kids younger than 8. I would assume this is why some people here have called the Mainline as being for a younger audience.

The mainline figures were supposed to be released in 2022, while the studio series figures were schedueled for 2023, but then the movie got delayed.
I don't really agree that mainlines are for a "younger audience", they are just as complex as studio series in my opinion, maybe even more so when you compare Wheeljack (Deluxe Mainline) to SS Ratchet (2007-DOTM) for example.

You have the right approach to the studio Series line and it has evolved to have other characters/designs, not just the ones from the Bay era of films.
Also the rise of the beats line is based on 2D and 3D assets given to the Transformers team at the time of the toyline's development.

Thanks for taking the time to explain all this to someone who hasn't been following this whole situation. That makes sense now… sort of.
I never thought of the Studio Series line being really for "adult collectors" so much as just for all things "movie"… especially since we haven't had a separate movie line for a while.
It seems really weird to me that Hasbro is doing a Rise of Beasts line of designs that aren't directly based on the movie characters, and then dumping the accurate molds into another line… but I guess that's how things are now. I can barely keep track of all the sub-lines that pop up these days.
Short version, I really dig the "mainline" Airazor. For me it's the best fusion of outdated Mainframe aesthetics and the more greebly Bayformer look. That facesculpt is nice.
I'll go back to my cave now.

The Studio Series line is still aimed at kids aged 8 and up (and their parents), and thus has more Bumblebee product to ensure his sustained presence on shelves. However, unlike other Transformers toylines, the toys are made with the older collector base in mind as well (so people aged 10 and up). It's a delicate balance.

He deleted the vids of Weaponizer Primal and Prime (I think they are weaponizer).
Seanprime
Wait he deleted those videos?

There is an article online called "A tale of 2 Airazors" which sums up the situation. There was an entire toyline for Rise of the Beasts, which fans on this board are calling the mainline. This toyline was focused more on younger fans, the primary audience for Transformers toys. It would have looked similar to the Cyberverse and Earthspark line. That line includes deluxes, like the Airazor where the legs become the wings, the wheeljack toy and the cheetor toy that have been shown on these boards. Those are from the Rise of the Beasts toyline which would have come out in 2022 with the film. The film was pushed back and so is this Rise of the Beasts toyline was pushed back as well.
There was always a plan that in 2023, a year after the movie had been out, there would be figures of those movie characters in the Studio Series line. The airazor revealed yesterday (which people are comparing with Kingdom Airazor) is from Studio Series. it is not from the Rise of the Beasts toyline. The offroad Bumblebee and Battletrap toys that were previously revealed are also from Studio Series and not the Rise of the Beasts toyline.
Because of the film delay, both toylines may be on shelves at the same time.

Rise of the beasts is having its own mainline of figures aimed more toward a younger audience.

This is the Airazor for the rotb mainline
Studio series is the line aimed for older collectors as everyone knows at this point.

This is the Airazor for SS
TF Hot Rod
No they mean this one. The one where the wings are formed from her legs (not Kingdom one).
SMOG
When people say "mainline" Airazor, they mean the Kingdom version, right? The BW toon-accurate one?

Nah I think it’s just what he prefers to do for studio series and legacy. Since Hasbro doesn’t seem to be doing reveals at all for mainline ROTB figures, guess he just doesn’t bother waiting.
KiraAthrunAsuka
Ah shieeeeet, I guess he only does reviews for figures that he has more information on.
