Threezero have shared out some teasers for two upcoming pieces in their Transformers line of high end non-transforming pieces. MDLX Rodimus is official and shown standing alongside Optimus for scale. On the larger front, DLX scale Revenge of the Fallen Megatron is next up in the mid size range. Both look well done. Stay tuned for full product reveals, pricing, accessories and release dates over the next couple days!

I changed my mind on the head/hands and canon and decided to take a 3P AOE OP evasion mode instead (only 5 pieces). So, I'll take those pieces later.
Nice to see the differences: thanks for sharing

Was this ever released in the US?

Where is the decepticon logo on this guy?

I like the aftermarket head a bit more, especially the mouth/teeth. Finish is less shiny than original but it doesn’t stand out too much. I love the aftermarket hands even more.
The Factory
I also bought the new head and it's excellent. I just wish they matched the finish however.
The Factory
The new head has a moving jaw and some details are added that were overlooked on the stock version. Unlike the stock head, you can now activate the led eyes with a magnet instead of having to flick a switch all the time.

How is the new head compared to the original

Yup, the animators did what they needed to do with them onscreen to make it work. Cheating all the way to the bank. It's only a problem when you try and align that with size charts and toys as it starts getting silly comparing to what you're seeing onscreen which is of course wildly inconsistent scene by scene.
So long as Optimus Prime is taller than Bumblebee and so on, it doesn't really bother me by how much. Threezero did the right thing making ROTF Megatron slightly taller than their ROTF Prime, and Jetfire taller than all of the DLX lads. You can't please everyone.
Nova Maximus
I remember how even the Studio Series said when responding to if ROTF Megatron was was big as 07 Megatron and basically replied that they don't really have any idea, that the movie bots kept changing sizes constantly scene by scene much like G1 or the UT, they just did a better job at hiding it.
Napalm
The height of Prime and Megatron has been done to death, but here goes. Officially, Prime is 28ft, ROTF Megatron is 35ft. This pic I found on Google basically shows how they should look.

But this changes like the wind onscreen as they make the bots the height they need to be to suit the scene they are in. The only real time they're side by side is below and both are scaled to be about the same height to fit the framing of the shot.

So your Prime is either slightly too small or your Megatron is way too big depending on what you want, but it's certainly in the right ballpark and not worth worrying over.
BenCherry
Is this Optimus too small?
TF1 Megatron is very very tall and yet he became shorter in TF2. But it was still bulked and taller than like Hasbro ss05 and Megatron. This is definitely an official scale which presented through the official released toys, this should be considered as golden standard

I haven't seen this mentioned in any review, hell it's not even in the instructions, but these tattooed pieces above the foot..

…are on a tab, hinge and ball joint connection enabling you to move them right out of the way.

This is particularly useful getting more out of the foot movement without fully extending the foot joint.

Got it today! He is really jawesome! I do really hope 3Z will make the other Megatrons from TF1; TF 3 and TF5.
If one, a chrome powerfull version of TF1.
That ROTF version is really fantastic.
Mr Grimm
Rotate the joint (as though you’re raising it for posing) and apply a small amount of ‘pull’ on the joint. It should wiggle out. BB Prime is built the same way, and they come off quite smoothly on that.
Edit: Doh, just realised you’ve already done it!
Chopper Face
Blast the joint with a hairdryer for 30 seconds to soften the plastic first. Usually helps.

Ah it's very tight but it does come out
