If you want to veiw transformers as an investment buy fanstoys and Japanese limited editions.
If you want to invest in silver bullion coins pick up whatever 1 oz coins are closest to spot silver price.
Limited edition \"collectable\" coins are a suckers bet at best and an outright scam at worst.
Remember even the dumbest Rick Still knew and told Jerry that the coins only had value to him based on how he felt about them.

The way it was explained to me, as far as US currency goes, is that the Dollar is different from a dollar. A Dollar was historically defined as a certain amount of gold or silver. What we call a dollar now is a Federal Reserve note, whose actual value fluctuates relative to the real Dollar. When they mint coins, specifically, they use the real Dollar in the denomination but price it in Federal Reserve notes.
But I would second that it's ridiculous to pay $100 for a coin with Bumblebee (or Captain Kirk or Batman or…) on it when a regular silver coin goes for around $25.

Yikes $99, thats a shame

Wow, I had no idea the Hasbro bs markup could hit a silver coin. $99 is absurd when one ounce of silver is worth $19 and dealers are selling real coins like Krugerrands for $27. I doubt a Bumblebee coin will ever carry the cachet to increase in value to ever make that purchase worthwhile.
Maybe $50 for the coin and display box could be somewhat justified.

The whole legal tender thing feels like such a weird angle. Like technically you can spend it on this tiny little island, but the face value of it is 1/5 the price of the silver used to mint it and 1/25 the retail price. What's the appeal of legal tender if it's been designed to not be in every practical aspect? If they weren't legal they also wouldn't have to put the queen on the back and instead do something that looks cool.

Fancy.

Why didn't they wait and roll this out (no pun intended) in 2024? Are they trying to move out old coins with Queen Elizabeth II's likeness before they start minting new coins with King Charles III's likeness?

Man if only I had $100 dollars to spend. I might have bought this if I wasn\'t trying to get Deathsaurus already.
