A fun little video for you all to enjoy today – Adam Savage of Tested (and formerly of MythBusters) has gotten his hands on the recently released auto-converting Optimus Prime figure by Robosen! While the figure has been released for some time, it’s still a massive feat of engineering and Adam is no stranger to those. He and his colleague, Norm provide a fun, insightful, and unique review and perspective on the most expensive, transforming figure yet and even take the robotics to their limits by showcasing some custom programs.
Check out the video after the jump and share your thoughts in the discussion thread!

Omfg, I love that thing so freaking much. I\'ve seen so many videos on Optimus. The trailer changes everything though. You could recreate the iconic scenes when Prime transforms and his trailer disapeares. I love the kick boxing that they showed off. Sadly, I wasn\'t able to get Prime or the trailer. It\'s just a bit too pricey for me.

Wait till you see what state of the art new cars are capable of. The 2020s are an interesting place.
Confused Millennial
It’s always interesting living in Optimus Prime’s home era.

I don't have one but I know someone who does and he's extremely satisfied with his purchase…
watching this video I am jealous, but if it was Unicron or Robosen, I was going to have to go with Uni…

Yes he did, but it's unfortunately difficult to find good details on because, iirc, it was made for tv series or something, so they have rights to all the footage and it's not super accessible

The Robosen Optimus Prime is genuinely cool. I have one.
He\'s a Transformer, a game, a robotics learning device, and an audio animanatronic all in one. Well worth it.

Adam showed me that this can do something I have NEVER seen, stand on ONE leg and AIR KICK with the other. Excuse me…but WHAT???? That may be the first programmable thing this can do that\'s genuinely blown my mind. I mean the rest is cool, but the balance and physics needed to pull that off is on a whole other level. And it wasn\'t gentle about the kicks either.

I’ve probably seen 7 reviews and viral videos of this thing, but you know what I‘ve never seen in any of those videos?
Nobody ever removes all of the packaging and fully attaches the smokestacks.
Just basic unboxing stuff. No reviewer has ever done it.

I hope you don’t mind, but if you end up wanting to get more HGs, one of my personal favorites is HGBF Try Burning Gundam! It looks really cool, and has a ton of posability.

I've seen some of his stuff, along with my life science teacher who had us watch myth busters along with lessons, but yeah I think I'll check out more
Didn't get make a more or less fully functional iron man suit out of titanium?
wheeljack01
Norm, that is also on tested has done some Transformers stuff on this channel as well. I think it was some 3A pieces, maybe Jetfire/Optimus. Always cool to see more Transformers love.

Yep, also I'm starting Gunpla soon and I decide to choose Uraven Gundam HG as my first one.
SPLIT LIP
I loved that video. Especially since his cohosts had experience with Gunpla so them guiding him to all the cool features was great. Reminds me when I first started Gunpla and I went straight to Master Grade and I was blown away by the engineering even back then. The PGU was on another level.

I remember watching Adam Savage's videos especially the one on the PG Gundam… never expected him to touch Transformers lol. Awesome!!
John TheDestroyer
If you don't know Adam Savage then you should definitely check out the rest of his channel, especially his "one day build" series. One of the coolest geeks around lol, with so many years of knowledge. He started his career as a prop builder on the Star Wars prequels, then hosted Mythbusters, and now works with his YouTube channel Tested with his partners. Mans living the dream his whole life

That was pretty cute.
I'll never be able to afford one of those things but god damn it's impressive to see the kinds of stuff it can do.

That was amazing in funny way push ups crunches martial arts disappointed he didn’t do round house kick , maybe jumping jacks.,
Toys of future kids play with them without having touch them with your hands it’s great but not that fun I like touch things it’s great to see toy transform with out using hands for once not same as picking up movie pieces around your self.,
this mostly expensive display piece only I see people using it as impress there friends who don’t know about this stuff

Watched it. They\'re not that well versed in the transformerd lore, but the amount of enjoyment they get from it is incredible. Seeing the figure itself was incredible, especially when they made it do martial arts
