Hasbro is currently hosting its 2022 Investor Day.
During their 2nd panel for Entertainment, Hasbro just revealed that they are continuing with the contract with Paramount Pictures for Live Action Entertainment.
But only for Transformers and G.I. Joe properties.
Other brands will fall under eOne‘s control at the end of the current 5-Year contract with Paramount. eOne is a Hasbro-owned subsidiary.
We hope to hear more during the coming months.

Actually, I would Blame Dreamwave's Prime Directive comic for the abrupt endings…
Much of it's surface imagery , tone, and story beats were adapted to the films, including the ending of Prime standing pensive with Spike in the ruins of San Francisco
The comic ending in different forms made it into 2007- and DOTM…
I'd suggest Prime Directive( also the working name for 2007's script) and The Ultimate Guide were the only material the producers and writers consulted, as per Dreamwave defining the brand during the pivotal early development period for the film..

That is another thing about the Bay movies that I never liked. They end so soon after the climax, it doesn't really give you any time to see the aftermath and watch everyone settle down into their lives following the events of the movie. Some of the Bay movies do a better job of giving you a conclusion though, like the first one. But I believe in all the other ones, the final shot is in the location of the final battle, just moments after it happened. Revenge of the Fallen if I remember correctly ends with Sam and Optimus on an aircraft carrier leaving Egypt after the battle, so that one kind of depends.
It reminds me of Pacific Rim 2, which ended almost immediately after they killed the giant kaiju on Mt Fuji. It just seems like they were trying to end the movie as quickly as possible.
I feel this probably comes from the people behind the movies not really seeing them as stories and more as a compilation of action scenes. After the last battle, what's the point of showing anymore? Just have Optimus say something like "good job guys, ok bye" and leave. Who cares about characters? That's dumb and boring!

Forcing someone to do something they don't want to do, even though they're being paid, is craptastic behavior. Reminds me of a YouTube short I watched last night. Guy owns a septic tank cleaning business and he's a pull-no-punches kind of dude. He says he loves having his best employee train the others under him because he knows they'll all be the best thanks to this employee. The problem is, this employee HATES training others. HATES it. By the end of it, the trainer and the trainee HATE one another, but good solid craftsmen come out of it. The boss kind of thinks it's funny but also wants the guy to quit and open his own business because of how good he really is and that he deserves to be successful.
It reminds me of Bay and Paramount. He didn't want to do any more of them but they pushed him and he could've gone anywhere but he stuck around. So, it's partially his own fault, much like the guy in the YouTube short. If you get paid and stick around, you're going to have to do what the boss wants.
The biggest problem was the credits stinger. The film was over and done with up to that point. People were walking out, and magically, here's Quintessa still alive (like, how?!) and she's still trying to kill Unicron and destroy Earth. FFS, the film would've been only slightly better if that scene didn't exist. Just couldn't leave well enough alone. Fortunately, we finally got to see Gemma Chan, and well… I don't know about you but my goodness. Wow.
Coasting is a good way to put it. Even then, coasting is better than what TLK came up with. I mean, it was downright awful by the end. I was sadly a HUGE Bayverse stan for years and years. Defended it to the last. TLK made me walk out of the theater in a dazed stupor. I actually couldn't sleep that night because I was so angry that I had wasted so much time and energy on it all. I was so disappointed that I had wasted 10 years all for it to come to an end as it did. It just…ended and fell apart. There was no final scene, no goodbye, just the Autobots jump on their ship and fly off into the sunset while Optimus delivers another hollow message, and the film ends. Stonehenge is blown to Hell, there's a massive hole in a field in the UK, Sir Burton is graveyard dead, Cogman is nowhere to be found, Quintessa is somehow still alive, and pieces of Cybertron are just laying about in the countryside. WTF? How is that an ending to a decade-old franchise? How do you end something like that? 1997's Lost In Space (also without an actual ending) was completed better than this was. FFS, it was awful!
It made me reevaluate all of the prior complaints, prior movies, my own thoughts, and I realized I was wrong all along. The toys are great, the visuals are stunning, but the films suck so bad. The stories suck so bad. It's just so painful.
Please don't let me or anyone else dissuade you. TLK did it for me, but if you guys still love the movies, more power to you.

I think Bay was completely and totally checked out by the time TLK went into production. He finally meant it when he said this was his last one, yet it was clear Paramount wanted to keep making movies and set up a Cinematic Universe (like everyone and their mother was trying to do at the time), hence the writers' room being established and a dozen plus pitches being crafted.
Bay just needed to make the movie a springboard into whatever they wanted to do next, without him, and that's what he did. Between the inexplicably reused shots, the inconsistent aspect ratios, and elements straight up aped from other popular movies (Izzy the kid appeal character, Sqweeks the little robot friend, Suicide Squad intro), it all felt very uncharacteristic for Bay who always prided himself on technical innovation and charting his own path (whether you liked it or not). It just felt like he was coasting in a way none of the prior four movies did.
Of course, for a movie series that always played a bit loose with continuity, it is ironic that the only one to end on some sort of cliffhanger / post credits scene is the only one to not get a sequel.
And – disclaimer – I say this all as a huge Bayverse fan!

DOTM and AOE had solid story ideas. Conspiracies are pretty good sci-fi fodder. In deft hands, both films could've been amazing. In Bay's hands, they were loud and obnoxious and one was turned down a perverted path. (Seriously, WTF?!)
I liked the core story of both films. They could've been so much more. AOE especially, because the scene with Optimus and Cade in the barn was the closest they came to having a legitimate connective moment between a Transformer and a human being. We wouldn't see it again, and done properly, until 2018's Bumblebee. Such a shame, too.
TLK was just… I haven't a clue why Bay would throw *those* specific scripts together. Just…what? Like…what? lol
I did like Megatron, Mohawk, and Infernocus in the movie. I think their lore could've been fleshed out better and made a heck of a lot more sense, too. That's one of the flaws of the film franchise, there's so much to work with and they barely scratch the surface. When they do dig deeper, they end up blowing it on having it briefly mentioned before all Hell breaks loose and there's another kaboom rattling your speakers and making the camera shake. *sigh*
Here's to hoping ROTB is better than we think…

In my opinion, it seemed liked they had hope for the movies up until AOE. At least ROTF had the excuse of being made during the writers strike, with the script being made in 2 weeks. Then with AOE they were just trying ideas, and you could tell that as much thought and care was put into it as the previous few.
Then when TLK came, all hell broke loose. They were just slapping a bunch of shitty ideas together which just made Monty Python's Dark of the Moon. The knights barely had a role in the movie, they just did a few things at the beginning and then at the end for some cool action scenes.
With ROTB, it seems like they actually care about the movie. They cannot release a trailer or any major news because between now and when the movie is actually out, a large company *cough* *cough* *Disney *cough* would've already squeezed out some mediocre garbage that the fans would've eaten up

Don't play dumb. You called everyone here ignorant over a movie about toys. EVERYONE knows the execs are at fault, but the film series as a whole sucks. TF07 isn't to blame for that, but it is part of the franchise and simply by existing, it stumbles into the crosshairs of those who hate the film franchise. Comes with the territory. And while you're allowed to defend (and probably love) it, others are allowed to tear it down and hate it. It doesn't make them ignorant as well as you loving it doesn't make you ignorant. We know who's to blame for ALL of this. But personally attacking a bunch of people over a movie about toys makes you look ridiculous and makes you another face of what's wrong with the fandom today.

People are far more important than toys or a movie about toys. I don't know why the fandom needs to hear this again and again and again, these days, but my gosh… We're an unhealthy lot. (Before someone says "what do you expect? We're adults who collect toys" yeah, that's not a good enough excuse anymore. We don't need to be dicks to each other.)
