First Official Look At Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts Optimus Prime Robot Mode

Hasbro is currently hosting its 2022 Investor Day.

During their 2nd panel for Entertainment, Hasbro just showcased the first trailer for the upcoming movie Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts.

But, the online audience was not left without anything. We now have our first official look at Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts Optimus Prime (robot mode).

Optimus Prime was previously revealed through a binder and through a pair of kids’ shoes. However, this is our first official look at the character.

Looks amazing! Maybe those panels flip up to revealvth matrix or some awesome chest guns!

The proportions are honestly quite interesting to me. The head is larger and the torso is smaller. Much more human-like. Bumblebee also had more human proportions in his render, and we saw a blue screen suit in set. I wonder if the TFs will be motion captured?

Assuming these proportions are accurate to the final film, but it would be interesting.

I personally don’t see this as being 100% accurate to the final model and his proportions being 100%. Just something very close to the design to get the job done for merch and toy art.

Its a decent render, probably not 100% accurate to the one that'll appear in the film but it's a decent design.

I wanna say it looks more refined? Still better than past movie Prime's for sure, I'm kinda hoping they keep the blue lens-eyes rather than the beady mechanical pupils of the previous ones.

After building the BB Op model kit, I definitely think you guys are right and this is a quick and dirty promo render. There’s no other reason the design would lose so much detail and refinement. Even some of the “new” elements are existing assets just tweaked. The parts that look like the grill guard on the shoulders are actually on the BB Op model, just red and roughly 50x smaller. Even the silver weathervane looks modified from the one he already had.

Definitely, it has the vibes of the 07 promo renders where it's the design but not as detailed or refined but get's the point and job done for toys and merch.

Going by previous films, it'll be December the earliest. Probably releasing in time to be attached to Avatar 2.

Not much big surprise how he looked on cybertron and quick glance at him in robot mode in bumblebee end scene

Good to know there's a trailer ready to roll at some point, any estimates (going by previous films first trailers to release) as to when about that'll be?

Going by previous films, it'll be December the earliest. Probably releasing in time to be attached to Avatar 2.

Weird considering they had all the time in the world to make a refined render while they showed nothing about the movie for over a year.

I'm sure it is. The people who were the first who saw Optimus's new design posted this BB Prime concept art as a reference. So it would not at all surprise me they just photoshopped it a bit to get the general look they wanted, gave it to the artist and said "Draw".

I hope that's the case then. As of now, the changes makes the design feel clunky.

IMO, I prefer my live-action Optimus to NOT look like he has a canary's beak.

Since when has the mouth guard ever looked like a canary's beak? That's obviously not what I am asking about. This one has that squared off look at the front that even the Earthrise Optimus doesn't.
