Once again, Hasbro designer Marck “Markclonus” Maher has taken to his Instagram account to share with the fans some comments about the recently revealed Transformers Legacy: Evolution poster. We have some interesting trivia about the creation of this great piece of art (by artist Marcelo Matere) as well as some easter-eggs! Read on for details:
Happy @hasbropulse day everyone. Big thanks go out to @toygrind you killed it bruv, hope we can get you involved with some more tings! The greatest brand team evah featured in the stream @isabellachiemiweiss @bmacatron84 @naveskoorb and obviously the amazingly talented devoted and passionate design and engineering team at TAKARA TOMY! Aaaaannnndddd most importantly, all of you!!!! The support and love you all give means the world to us!
@marcelomatere is a LEGEND in the TF brand as his passion and talent spark has been part of the brand for so so many years. Dudes rep is undeniable and working with him on this new year of LEGACY has been a dream come true. He has been instrumental in many aspects throughout the brand’s history and in this EVOLUTION series, you’ll see more soon at how crucial his involvement really is 😉
Shout out to our packaging team for allowing me to really art direct this package poster art with Marcelo. The color theory and the energon fizzles they flexed really makes these packages pop! If you swipe right you’ll not only see Marcelo’s pencils but you will also see the rough imagery I threw together to convey layout, excitement, character features, and of course, all the easter eggs! Trying to relay the entire vision of what Legacy is evolving into was definitely a welcomed challenge. Much like my involvement with our Wreckers exclusives program packaging execution, I will try and continue to convey through art direction what the story is behind all the amazing toys!
Oh, I almost forgot to mention, if you buy 2 characters at the same scale, you will be able to place the sides of the packaging together and complete the poster image shown here! My man Mario and talented Christina over on the packaging team are a great pleasure to work with and we got some insanity cooking for yall!
Okay okay I know you want to see more on the toys, hopefully this weekend I can give you some posts on just how amazing these toys truly are, Takara and Hasbro are ready to roll out and you will soon see more than meets the eye!!!!
About the art, many fans have noticed that Armada Optimus Prime was drawn on top of the art. Could this be a hint for a new upcoming mold or maybe the almost forgotten mold which was shown at Tokyo Wonder Festival 2019? Let us know your expectations on the 2005 Boards!
