The official Takara Tomy Hobby Channel YouTube account have just treated us with two new promotional videos of Transformers Masterpiece MPG-02 Getsuei.
First we have a very detailed step-by-step transformation video. From his realistic EF65-1000 Electric Locomotive alt mode to robot mode and combiner leg mode. We can see this is a very clever and original transformation sequence. We also have a look at the way you can use the extra railway pieces and flying stand.
Then we have a very nice promotional CGI animated video showing off Getsuei coming down from the skies at night under a full moon, then transform into robot mode to finish in an anime-style pose with the moon as background.
Not much left to say, so watch the videos after the jump and then sound off on the 2005 Boards!

Exactly! These are toys after all and most people only have so much space, and can pay so much. If they did a whole pack of those mini figures like the ones that came with Skyfire, I'd buy it in an instant. Scale gets annoying and most importantly, impossible at some point. We all gotta use our imaginations at some point right?
Sam
I don’t have my Skyfire in hand yet but I imagine that’d be a good size for combiners to top out at. Still fine with them scaling guys like the Constructicons to Starscream in robot mode and then let the size of Devastator fall where it may. If I want combiners so big they can hold Autobots in their hands I’ll just use the minifigures that Skyfire comes with.

I still think 15-16inches is optimum, big enough to be big, but not a waste of space in combined mode.
BrutiKing
Honestly yea, I was originally happy with Zeta's scale of combiners when I got their bruticus, but now that I got Raiden in hand, I honestly hope combiners could be a bit smaller… Raiden's a good size to play with and considering that optimus is pretty much the tallest bot on my shelf, Raiden being taller than him satisfies me. I am collecting the FT Combiners, but I honestly have no idea where to put them. Feel like they look goofy with how massive they are – I'm not sure where to put a 3 year-old sized robot in my condo…
BombSquad
I saw one of the 3p ones in leg mode at a convention and I was floored by how big it was. I'm shocked that people have space for 3p MP combiners, especially if they also have titans and other large toys.
KylerWilmoth
As you should be allowed to think! I have one Titan sized toy and I see it as too much if I'm being honest. Raiden seems to be a good size. I think the only other toys I have that are bigger are MP-4, MP Skyfire, and Titan Black Zarack
lord ginrai
Totally serious. He has a ton of mass. Very wide.
To me, yeah. Honestly, all the figures in those images look pretty huge (except for the Voyager Optimus). I can’t even begin to imagine how massive that 3rd party Raiden must be in real life.
daimchoc
Definitely GIGANTIC!

I dunno, he's got a decent amount of mass relative to his height. He's stocky and thick. And he's really dense feeling, heavier than you'd initially suspect for his size.
Hoffman
No, I know. But even if you own any larger MP or Leader class figures, I wouldn't consider Raiden gigantic.
mx-01 archon
lord ginrai actually lives in Japan. They don't tend to have space for 18" action figures over there.
Hoffman
Not sure if serious…
lord ginrai
Just saw Raiden on display in a local toy store. Dear god he’s gigantic! Really hope that any future MP combiners won’t be any taller than this. They’d be so unwieldy. Pictures really don’t do his size justice.

Yeah for storage in train mode I leave the crest not pushed in all the way, or else it bumps into part of the inner structure of the train panels.
BronzeLeagueHero
It's very possible to store the raiden head in robot and train mode.
For robot mode, you have to make sure two tabs line up with holes on the underside of the head piece + the reversed crest needs to sit inside of the bogie. (the wheels)
For train mode, you have to make sure the back of the head is pointing to the rear, the black W shaped tab that folds is folded up and pointing to the rear, you tab in the head to the rear bogie, and then fold the leg panels around the head.
NGL in the robot mode it sticks out a lot and can make yukikaze look really bulky.
Paco Grande
It's definitely possible, but if you don't want to risk paint damage I totally get that. Check out the Wotafa video to see if he shows it. For bot mode it needs to go at a certain angle I think. Not straight. The entire head I mean. Not the crest.
Buzzclaw
I don't it's possible but the instructions show that you can push the reversed crest all the way in, which does not jibe with the actual toy. I'm sure I can fit it in there but there's little clearance and I don't want to scratch paint off.
Paco Grande
Not sure what you mean, but it is possible to store the Raiden head in train and bot mode. I think there's a trick to it. Wotafa most likely shows it.
