We have something very interesting to share with all Transformers Animated fans out there. Thanks to Twitter user @KeyanCarlile have shared a short video showing some Transformers Animated unseen test footage & unused score.
This material comes from a DVD which was part of Derrick Wyatt’s private collection (which was sold to a store in California). This DVD contains early Transformers Animated test footage including unfinished scenes and there are three proposed scores on the disk from the composers of Teen Titans.
Watch a short video sample after the break as well as some screencaps. Stay tuned with TFW2005 for more updates and don’t forget to share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!
Wow.
This DVD contains the Transformers Animated test footage from its early development. Some animation isn't completed yet
There are THREE proposed scores on the disk from the composers of Teen Titans, who must've been in-talks to do the show before Sebastian Evans was chosen https://t.co/9s5RZFPTRv pic.twitter.com/oo14xuxgeX

Thank you for sharing this information with those who missed it instead of pretending Derrick's fans are somehow not worthy of knowing this. These Animated finds over the past month sure have stirred up some nostalgia, but the cost is unbearable.

That test footage looks genuinely cool, I love the little smush Bulkhead has in that little bounce part of his animation to show weight and momentum

His sister, Denise, did discuss it some last month.
It was unknown at first. An autopsy had to be done so they weren't sure themselves when it happened. They think it was partially genetic heart issues, coupled with a number of health problems that went undetected. Wyatt's grandfather also died at 49 from a heart attack. Official cause of death was cardiac arrest.
I get the impression Denise was upset at Derrick's poor medical coverage which led to issues going undetected. It's pretty common for people who freelance to go uninsured.

I actualy asked specifically because I recall Josh Perez telling us they would tell us details later when they found out more, but yeah, if they haven't said anything, it stands to reason they don't want anything said, and that's deservedly the end of the subject.

That was cool. Loved Animated. Just sucks that the only way we got to see it was well after Derrick's passing. Would have been great if he was able to share this with the fandom himself.

Good old Aniamted!
SPLIT LIP
BigRed wasn’t being crass when he asked, though. He was just wondering if it was known, not demanding the information or anything. His was an honest question, it just so happens that the answer is “no.”

mind your own business

There are better ways record from your tv I. He quality with shaky camera and audio commentary in background without use of cellphone

This is an interesting find, though I do wonder as to why they didn\'t bring back the TT composers for the final product. Not that there\'s anything wrong with the music in the final product.
jackgaughan
Nah it's actually pretty crass.

I always love seeing behind the scenes stuff like this. Such a great series. I really hope we see some Animated Legacy characters soon.
There’s nothing wrong with asking on a public forum or speculating.
Oniconvoy
I think that if his friends and family wanted that known, it would be public knowledge by now. Please respect their wishes.
BigRed
Perhaps off-topic, but do we know why Derrick passed? It all seemed so sudden and even his friends seemed genuinely shocked/surprised.
Chopperface
Amazing!!! I love it.

Very cool. It's just very sad how we've come across it.

So much awesome stuff from Animated has been discovered as of late.
Warpshard
That is so incredibly cool. You almost never get to see these sorts of in-production shots of the shows, at least on a level like this (although there have been tons and tons of animation cells from older shows sold online). It's a shame it was only discovered in the wake of its creator's passing, but these sorts of in-development shots, be it tv shows or movies or games are always really interesting to see.
Powerbomb
That Sari is terrifying.
Did she look like that in the final version?
