Via Korean website DCInside we have some new images of the possible upcoming new Transformers Legacy Magnificus/Shattered Glass Perceptor.
Following our first small images of this Microman-inspired black redeco of the Studio Series SS 86-11 Deluxe Perceptor with a new toy-inspired retooled head with a mask, now we have fully transformed images showing robot, microscope and tank mode. Take this with caution since we are yet to see an official confirmation about this figure. We had seen this deco before with the 2005 E-Hobby exclusive Magnificus and it was also repurposed as Shattered Glass Perceptor.
See the images after the jump and then sound off on the 2005 Boards!

Yup, I was on the fence for months about it myself (for Perceptor) and as he appeared to be a difficult one to find, I finally decided to get him when I saw him sitting there for a couple of weeks at a store.
The moment I had it in hand, I was glad that I had picked it up as between the design and the very different plastic used on him, he was much better than expected. His biggest flaw is the giant hole in his back but aside that he's a very decent figure and doesn't have that uber cartoonish aesthetic (that I don't like) as much as most of the others of the same line.
So I'm awaiting this black version with anticipation.

Mine just arrived today.

I just got magnificus in today and he’s great! I have never messed with this mold before and I see why people like it. He’s a great replamcemt for the KFC Micro Robo

And charged, so it should be shipping soon from PULSE.

My order says I'll be charged on Dec 1. Nice.

he was literally sold at given away price back in the E-hobby years he was released and I (due to funding issues) sort of forgot to follow up on him
ETA March 2023 at SEAsia. PO'd this time!

Sapphire. My first attempt. The longer you leave it in the HOT (not boiling) water the darker it gets. After checking the first 5 minutes I may have forgotten about it for a… pretty good amount of time.

Danke. I might give it a try.. Navy blue seems the best fit.. is that the blue one in your image?

"RIT Dyemore SYNTHETIC" + cheap pan. Super easy.

Don't you just boil some water, add the dye and then dip the parts in for a few minutes each?
Thundershot
Hey, that's not a bad idea… I have a bag of Battlemaster parts…
Hrm.. I don't know if I feel comfortable with that.. then again I never tried and don't know how.

FWIW the white parts on Firedrive take fabric dye amazingly well, so it's easy to do this:

yeah, I mean, I am getting this because I'm a "modern pre-TF" mark at this point, but I REALLY wish it was the TR mold. It's so much better looking, the SS86 Perceptor mold is honestly one of the most disappointing figures I've gotten in the last couple years. I don't love the TR either, but at least the shoulder cannon is the right size and the ab tray isn't relegated to molded detail. and he's so under detailed.

Not a bad idea. Might have to pick one that simulates the missile launcher.

Use one of the siege battlemasters. They are easy to customize

I agree about the chrome. But the decals are pretty minimal, even on the original. There's really no good place to put his thigh stickers, either, since it hinges and has a twist joint in them. A more robust rifle would have also been nice. They molded an extra head so it would have been nice to mold an extra toy gun into the sprue.

I have a original eHobby Magnificus and have been wanting a Generations version for a while.
I didn't care for the old CHUG Perceptor so I skipped that.
I hoped a Titans Return Magnificus would have happened, but alas.
I have a hard time with SS86 Perceptor; he's bland and simple with that toon deco; in the same way, Magnificus is not impressing me.
I think it boils down to the lack of chrome, paint apps, and the missing weapon.
This toy is going to require additional purchases to be the Magnificus I want him to be. Some don't mind, but to me that is the singular worst aspect of Transformer collecting in the modern era – upgrades to do what should have been done.

It's why I'm disappointed this wasn't done with the TR figure instead. Ganymede would have been the head and all would have been well with the world. I mean, this is fine…but not the ideal. Oh well. I can pick one of my Dianauts to be a stand-in, I guess.

Wish this was releasing at the same time as holiday prime
