Via Wotafa YouTube channel we have new in-hand images of the Canon x Transformers Optimus Prime R5 figure.
This is an official production sample handed by Takara Tomy to Wotafa for a review. The images focus on the realistic EOS R5 camera alt mode which show an impressive level of detail which include all Canon logos, removable lenses, as well as all the buttons and movable parts that the real camera has. You can even press the buttons! Robot mode is sure big and chunky, with a pretty interesting transformation. While the arms and head are inside the removable lenses piece, you can go to robot mode with these part still attached in camera mode. For those wondering about scale, we have an image next to War For Cybertron Leader Optimus Prime.
Watch the images after the jump, as well as Wotafa’s video review (in Japanese), and then share your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

Confirmed no ankle tilt?
Can anyone get a good shot of the head assembly? How easily does it come off?
God, I wish this thing wasn't so expensive.
I really worry about that chrome wearing down from the lens piece turning, rubbing chrome against chrome. Or even if it’s just paint
I got my Canon camera Prime today. Overall he’s fun to transform and the camera mode is amazing as expected. He has a cool transformation and it’s unfortunate that he has such a massive lens belly. Because the rest of him looks quite good. My biggest disappointment is that I was expecting the metal looking docking ring parts for the lens mount to actually be diecast. But they’re silver painted plastic. It looks like metal though. The biggest shock is when you pick up the camera mode. It looks like a real camera so your brain expects a lot more weight. But he’s very light so it’s jarring. A few of the buttons actually work which is neat. Anyway here’s a pretty large picture dump. I’m assuming most of you (all of you?) are not buying this so I took a bunch of pics so you can check it out. His packaging and instructions are very much like Masterpiece. Dimensions for the alt mode. The usual stats etc.
NOTE: His legs are much larger than they appear in the picture below. My phone is doing that weird lens distortion thing that makes figures look like they have tiny legs.
Light piping for the eyes and forehead lens. But the backpack blocks the light. I removed the backpack to take this pic.

HasbroPulse’s page now says Refraktor is shipping March 9th…
Missed opportunity to have nemesis prime be a competitor’s camera.

Looking awesome and Thundercracker finally gets his camera.
Just got mine! (^o^) Absolutely love it! The fact that you can remove the lens despite it containing the head and arms for robot mode just makes the figure for me. Definitley one step above the other random collaboration attempts. Truly a robot in disguise.

Official transformation video
Why is the only photo of Thundercracker holding a camera not even holding the camera that comes with Refraktor? That’s the money shot we’re all waiting for and we don’t even get that

And just to expand these smaller photos posted but left as thumbnails, I’m quite happy with the size of Starscream holding Reflector here:

A little on the large side, but way better than all the previous 3P attempts, and much more toon accurate than the MP-5G accessory.
