I saw a clip of that. I gotta say, just how big is Lazerbeak cos in that clip, Twitch (the drone Terra) fly after Lazerbeak and Twitch is still small compared to Lazerbeak? I know it's the legs that made me think Lazerbeak is bigger than he really is?

Non-spoiler review of the first two episodes of ES from Ben Yee

Yeah all he had was a handprint on his chest and that's it.
Tetratron
Yeah, I just though he was knocked out since it didn't look he was banged up any worse than normal.

Yeah no, I'd rather a Megatron with more layers and is actually interesting and a new angle than just evil for the sake of evil (while that can be done well enough I want to see something more interesting and has depth). Even saying he's become toothless is inaccurate from what we've seen in Cyberverse and the Earthspark trailers where he's still effective and brutal in combat. But ok
These things aren't mutually exclusive, Megatron can still be a brutal and effective combatant but also wants to retain peace and have a change of heart about the war.
Confused Millennial
I'm glad that we're going to see the Transformers as a net force for good in the galaxy after the absolute defilement of their reputation that they went through in IDW (where Cybertron appears naturally to tend to 1930s-style dictatorships) and especially Last Bot Standing (blech). They're supposed to be either the brave (although at times corrupted) species of robots that overthrew their savage creators, good creatures borne out of Primus' desire to fight back against primal evil, or the good counterparts to what TFWiki calls "the Demons."
Rojixus
And for every layer they slather on Megatron, they pull a tooth. He's all but toothless now, reduced to Optimus Prime's utterly tamed generic antihero buddy.

100% while similar there is difference’s the previous two iteration of Megs didn’t become good guys, only sided with the Autobots to defend someone else. But in the end never became good guys. Along with we start ES with Megatron on the Autobots side not eventually becoming a good guy as the series goes on.
Probably and yeah as much as I really like Cyberverse that was definitely the reason for that and I’m glad ES won’t have it cause that was definitely a restraint.
Nate98
Yeah Cyberverse Meg's death was pretty rushed in season 3. Granted I liked the fact they actually wanted to do it and stuck with it. However I think with the limited runtime the crew had and not knowing if they'll get a season 4 at the time, it just turned out that way. Even they said that.
Thank god Earthspark won't have that limit.
Nate98
That's not really accurate nor true. At the end of Prime he became tired and fed up with fighting especially after Unicron possed his body and tortured him.
In Cyberverse he agreed to stop the fighting after the Quintesson invasion but only to split Cybertron in half and would need a favour from Prime and the autobots in the future to stop Megatron X and threatened them if they ever go across the divide.
With the WFC series he only stopped it because he wanted to and then split Cybertron in 2 territories.
Earthspark is different as it's starting off in a post war setting with Megatron being on good terms with Prime and one of the main humans Dot Malto. He's actively participating in a human/Cybertronian alliance and treaty called Ghost to hunt down rogue Decepticons and maintain peace and relations with Humanity and the Autobots. So there's a clear cut difference
Actually I'd say the opposite, I think they're making him more interesting and he has more layers and doing new stuff rather than just a stereotypical 2 dimensional villain.
He was threatening and violent in Cyberverse when he needed to be, Earthspark shows him as someone who's willing to cooperate and have peace as he feels it's the best solution but still being effect and brutal in combat, he even has a line in the trailer wanting enemies to resist so he can have fun fighting them.
TF Hot Rod
Which I am fine with. While I would kinda like more villains today to just be plain evil, kinda enjoying themselves and written well, I also like a more layered Megatron and villains in general.
It was pretty quick so I don’t blame you.

Not even joking when I said I didn't remember lol.

Hasbro had wanted to do with Megatron for the past decade was to make him more redeemable then just being a 1 note villain. Keep him on the bad side of things but give him reasons as to why he acts that way and make him a bit more morally grey.
EarthSpark Megatron, putting IDW aside, is the first or one of the firsts to be on the good side. However, I’m kinda skeptical if such a thing is permanent but we will see moving forward.
