Via Baidu user cendolking we have our first in-hand images of the robot mode of the highly anticipated Transformers Studio Series 86 Voyager Ironhide.
Following our previously seen images of Ironhide’s alt mode, we finally have a proper look at the robot mode of this completely new Voyager class mold. As we can see from the images, it doesn’t use any partsforming and most of the van panel are compressed in the legs and feet. Ironhide features a very nice articulation range and cartoon-accurate sculpt. We also have comparison shots next to Earthtise Leader Class Optimus Prime which let us see that this new Ironhide mold is similar in size as the previous Siege and Earthtise Deluxe Ironhide molds.
Update: New images have surfaced, now showing a side-by-side comparison size of SS Ironhide next to Earthrise Ironhide and Ratchet.
See the new images attached to this news post (we have also included the previously see alt mode images for easier view) and then join to the ongoing discussion on the 2005 Boards!

Studio Series is technically 8+ so there is a little overlap, but yeah, neither are going anywhere.

That is irrelevent. 86 is going no where and they have said that repeatedly. And they are currently still making new molds. And earthspark is for kids between 3-9 so it has 0 effect on the other lines.

Targets are restocked with him. I have found 4 today. With the Shuttle massacre version coming soon this would be a great opportunity to snatch him up.
TF Hot Rod
Imo the best Ironhide design done, wish more Ironhide’s would follow that style.
Would love a Legacy version since they are doing Thundertron

The TF: Prime Ironhide design was such a great hybrid concept.

Hope this helps. Hopefully they will be available for purchase soon.
Heavy/Scratch: – Movie/Animated Inspired Arm Cannons for SS86 Ironhide

Agreed. I don't care what anyone says, every Ironhide needs a pair of "F*ck you and everyone around you" cannons.

I'm just bummed he doesn't have 5mm ports on his arms. I wanna give him big arm cannons. After Bayverse Ironhide, I think every version of Ironhide works with BFGs on each arm

The cheap hollow plastic syndrome has decades affecting the Transformers brand. The low quality didn’t start with covid.

The ones at the top of the front window. Mine didn't break but they were incredible tight and difficult to unclip for transformation out of alt mode. I eventually just took a file and shaved the clips down to about half the height and sanded them round and it works great now. Holds together just as well in alt mode but much easier to unclip for transforming
Other than that, I am unaware of any qc issues. The 3 different reds can be noticeable under certain lighting, if you count that as qc, but even that's not too bad. I really like the figure overall
Vanya
The ones that hold on to the front window, I think.
However, I also haven't had any issues at all since I got mine in January.

Are the clear hooks the tabs that hold the van together or the tabs on the front window?
GAUGE
Same here. I've not seen any issues on mine either.
OverloadedTaco
Clear hooks snapping as well as the van mode not holding together very well, ive had mine since Christmas constantly transforming him and he's still fine
Gamerlingual
I’ve been researching for an hour and can’t find any problems. What are the QC problems this Ironhide has? Does anyone have a link to them? Mine is ok so far

It was an easy choice for me as I never had the ER version.
However, I did since then get DK-2 Guard and was able to splurge on all the Nonnef upgrades for him.
Having done that, I definitely think SS86 one is the better Ironhide.
That being said, I really like the fully upgraded ER mould for DK-2 Guard.
I like how it fit the G1 toy better and is bulkier.
It is quite expensive when you add everything up.
Much more expensive than the SS86 Figure.
And I still need to do something about the cybertronian looking rear fenders.
They're still a bit of an eyesore even in the nearly all black deco that helps hide the square shoulders hanging out of the sides of the van.

So I've been wondering if this is really worth it to replace the ER version. I had this SS86 Ironhide for a very short time and I wasn't too sure if I liked him more than Earthrise Ironhide as I liked how he was next to Siege Ratchet. When I had them side by side it made me think hard about which I liked best

Yea mine does have an upgrade foot kit to give him the better van look and the gap filler kit to fill the holes, but he seems more bulky in the chest and shoulders. Plus I love the bulk of the van mode as well. But I keep seeing pics of the SS86 one and am starting to like how he looks again in bot mode and how he has the all in one transformation to van mode.
Anyway maybe I'll switch my mind and go with the SS version and replace my ER one.
TF Hot Rod
Love this guy, gave him a spare SS movie Prime blaster.

He was yes

The guns aren't actually unique to Ratchet. It's a generic blaster model that practically every Autobot whose toy didn't come with its own handgun wielded at least once in the animation.
Ratchet I believe was the only one who actually dual-wielded them, but Ironhide did use the same model at various points. And so did Bumblebee, Seaspray, Powerglide, and probably others.
