Third party company Shockwave Lab, via their Weibo account, have shared images of their latest product: SL-140 The Container Upgrade Kit For Kingdom/Legacy Core Class Optimus Prime.
This new upgrade kit consists of:
- A core class scale trailer – It can open and it features ports to hold other Core class weapons. It has molded treads with inner wheels instead of visible wheels.
- A blue LED light unit.

Good grief. A downgrade with a light? Wow… thanks.

I don’t really understand a lot about this. Not because it doesn’t look “G1 enough” (I am all for creative interpretations) but because it just looks kind of bad. The idea of treads on the trailer is fine, but they look awful as they are. If they get painted on the final version they’ll look better.
The extreme grid detail on the outer surfaces of the trailer looks really aesthetically unpleasant. Its too busy and it makes it look like screens or fencing.
The folding light thing…what is it? With Optimus propped underneath it looks like he’s taking some “me time” under a “happy light”. It’s not like Core Prime is the kind of figure that deserves a display spotlight.
Points for originality and functionality (storage for Core Bits is great) and I love that someone made a dedicated trailer for our crappy little Core Prime, but there’s so many off-putting decisions that I might have to pass on it. Allowing for possible changes between now and production, I won’t rule it out yet.

If Fansproject is still alive we need to have em do this.

Gee, who would have thought the more expensive thing would be better in certain aspects.

I guess everything is relative. Is he crappy for $10? No… for that price he’s a fun little guy. Is he crappy compared to Newage or Magic Square legends size Optimus’ (Optimi)? Yes… the Hasbro Core Class sucks donkey balls compared to those versions of Optimus. If you don’t care e about the $50 price difference, there is simply no comparison. But if you DO factor in the price, Core Optimus is objectively fine.

It would be interesting to see who going to make an armor upgrade trailer for Core Prime.
Chaos Muffin
Wouldve been happier with a simple downsized G1 trailer since its for G1 Prime. Maybe Roller and the command station wouldve pushed the price to $40-50.
Always wanted a version like Hybrid Convoys trailer. They nailed it that time but the figure wasnt avail for long.

The treads might be an homage to the Armada version of Optimus Prime, since the wheels on his trailer were treads.

Are the treads on the trailer an homage to a different toy? …I mean, to buy this to help round out my G1 Core Class Prime is kinda pointless; in my opinion at least.
jtanimator
I mean, okay lol. Good for those who want this I guess. But like, this upgrade is clearly putting 5x more budget and effort into the trailer and accessories than the actual toy even did. So I\'m not sure what the point is.

You know I might just get this, it\'ll give my core class Prime something to do instead of just sitting on Primus shoulder like a wart on a toad.

20? Yes
30? No
I do like it though

Maybe specify Prime Cyberverse or Movie Cyberverse, because we have those and shows, just before someone gets confused and says "They didn't have those."
And I agree, playsets double nicely as props too if you're making stop-motions.

Can it fit a Core in the trailer? Like Bumblebee or Hot Rod
