Once again, thanks to Taghobby we have images of the color prototypes of the new Transformers Masterpiece MPG-02 Trainbot Getsuei which is on display at the ACGHK 2022 event (Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong 2022).
Two color prototypes were shown. One in robot mode and another one in his realistic EF65-1000 train mode.
See the new images after the jump and then click on the discussion link below and let us know your impressions on the 2005 Boards!

Suiken's gun is better off inserted into one of the peg holes meant for the full raiden blaster, if you attach it where it goes in vehicle mode it prevents the foot cannon assembly from laying flat. it's a tight fit though.

Do you have a pic showing what it would look like? thx
BronzeLeagueHero
You can attach them to where they go in the alt modes of seizan and suiken, then it'll be on the feet.
XXLMagnus
any idea where these guns go in combined mode??
BronzeLeagueHero
Yukikaze needs a way to lock up his hips, they're still allowing a lot of movement in the leg mode. You can balance it still but it's more work.

Got my last three trains in from TFsource. Another damaged box (Suiken) but thankfully it's on the back and not on the toy. I think I'll stick with BBTS for my premium purchases now.

I ended up having time to transform all the trains and combine them before the weekend. I like the combined mode, though I doubt the team will stay in it often since I do really like the individuals. It might be sacrilege but after I’m satisfied displaying the whole team for a while I could see myself just keeping just a few out on semi-permanent display.

Mad jealous at that stable Midnight Express.

I know people think they are going to try and cram all combiners into 12-inches, but I don't see it. There's a certain fiddlyness to Raiden, that if it's no need for it, there's no need to copy and the limited range and articulation. Interested to see how they go about Predaking? according to rumors, but I'm betting there's be some noticable differences in those areas on Predaking.

Kaen is finally here!

General thoughts:
– I don't mind Kaen's robot mode size at all, I think he's a good size in both train and robot mode.
– As a solo bot Kaen is really fun. His hip ratchets feel wonderful.
– I had all the other Trainbots in train mode and transformed all of them to combined mode. It was mostly an enjoyable experience, much better than expected. The arm-bots were the quickest, then Getsuei. Shouki takes a lot longer since he needs to go almost all the way to robot mode first. Yukikaze, however, took the longest (more on that later).
– The fully combined Raiden looks good in person, much better than photos can convey. You're blasted by an overload of finely sculpted detail. His proportions are good too and will get even better with the waist extender.
– Kaen's kibble in the combined Raiden looks much better than I feared. I especially like the gun pods.
– While he stands fine and is generally stable, articulating Raiden requires care and support, ideally even the stand (which can be removed once articulation is complete).
– The one stand-out miserable experience is Yukikaze, from his robot mode legs to the ridiculous panel origami needed for the leg mode to him being the cause of most of Raiden slips and falls (yes his hips are angled correctly). His only positive points are his good looks in train and robot mode. If there was another option for the left leg (as in, another mold) I would sell Yukikaze.
– The one thing that would help a lot more in combined mode is more tabbing points to secure the various parts and panels of the individual bots.
All the train modes are excellent obviously, some of the best-realized alt-modes in all of Transformers history.
In terms of individual robot modes (including transformation between train and robot mode), I would rank them:
1. Kaen
2. Shouki
3. Suiken
4. Seizan
5. Getsuei (I really like his robot mode, it's just that his transformation feels like I'm going to break him at times)
6. Yukikaze
In terms of overall experience, including the combined form, I would rank them:
1. Shouki
2. Suiken
3. Seizan
4. Kaen (his combined form really needs better tabs and more stability overall)
5. Getsuei
6. Yukikaze

Actually same. It was over 48 hours ago I sent them an email asking about it. Still no response.

I’ve only gone from train to robot and back on the four I have, and none of them were fun to me. Part of it was the instructions being terrible.. maybe now that I know what I’m getting into, it won’t be so bad the next time.

Agreed. I genuinely love transforming Shouki, Getsuei, and Suiken (so I guess seizan too but I don't have him yet.) The only one I don't love is Yukikaze but even he's not awful. Shouki and Getsuei especially though, they are super, super fun.
franpincho
Transforming them is fun IMO, very fun, and clever.
Combining them is not bad per see, is just the fact that it is so gd fiddly.
