Via Twitter user @Prime0318 we have our first in-hand images of the new Takara Tomy Transformers Premium Finish PF SS-05 Optimus Prime.
This is a improved movie-accurate redeco of the Studio Series SS-05 Voyager Revenge Of The Fallen Optimus Prime mold. The figure includes the two blades of the original release plus 2 ion blasters which came originally with SS-32 and SS-44 Optimus Prime toys. As we can see from the images, this a very nice deco improvement with shiny paint apps and several additional details compared to the original release. We have images in both modes and a side-by-side comparison with the firsr SS-05 Optimus Prime mold.

The rumor was the line was canned but we don’t know 100% yet. If we get a reveal now that Prime is out, the line is still alive.

Yeah, I have the same fear. I am still really looking forward to the ROTF Leader Jetfire in the PF series as far as movie designs go. Still want to know what they would do to Wheeljack and Shockwave from the WFC line.

I've contacted ami ami. Some issues were a manufacturer defect, like the eyes, abs, wheel being bent, and the fact I got two fucking right handed swords. But the issues that come from the plastic ties are visible on multiple people's copies, and may get worse with time (as they're left inside the box) so watch out for that if you're getting one yourself.

The plastic ties causing various paint scraping all over the torso. Why phase out clamshells when you're going to use microplastic ties that ruin the finish of the toy. What a let down I'm extremely disappointed.

He was part of the originally teased lineup (blacked out silhouettes). However, currently it’s unclear whether the line will continue beyond Optimus. His WFC wave mate hasn’t been solicited yet so it’s up in the air at the moment.

Has a PF Jetfire been rumored?
BBTS has this Optimus dated for November but I just saw that it's released in Japan so order placed through Amzn JP. I messed up my original ss05 by trying to mod the chest so this is an expensive but welcome addition.

Also, the owner applied a few additional paint apps of their own, which of course aren't present on the fig itself. Explains why some photos randomly have Red on the lower legs and what not.

Interesting that the blue paint apps appear to be almost metallic but not the blue plastic, which seems relatively close to SS32's.
This really is kind of a hodge podge of a release, there's some nice paint app additions but we're still missing quite a bit and the colors we do have aren't even consistent. I could maybe see myself getting this on heavy discount and parts swapping a bit with another version of the figure.
