Hasbro Pulse YouTube Channel have uploaded a video featuring Peter Cullen, The Voice Of Optimus Prime, during his participation in a panel at the recent San Diego Comic Con 2022.

As usual, it’s great to listen to Mr. Cullen talk about his career, personal stories, how he got selected to be the voice of Optimus Prime for the new live-action movies and more.

Yup. He did. But only the first movie. I only remember this b/c I have been marathoning through the Alien and Predator movies recently so I am ready for the prequel movie (for the Predator movie) Prey.

2/5th of my life I lived in Montreal, Quebec. I wonder if Cullen's French is as rusty as me having left there for decades.

It was an amazing experience he\'s truly an American treasure in my book just a pleasure to listen to and he visited with each of us guest for a bit and was so nice.

What makes me curious is why Bay had him audition THREE TIMES for the character he breathed life into back in the 80s…

That's just part of the process. It had been 20 years since Cullen had played Prime. Not to mention that other people had already played the character, and for longer than Cullen, at the time and there were ideas with Liam Neeson being a big one to voice him. But Bay was fully behind Cullen playing Optimus again.
