Thanks to Twitter user @Wheeljack83 we can share for your some details and information from the Transformers EarthSpark Panel at San Diego Comic Con 2022. Read on for details about this new Transformers series:
- Alan Tudyk as the new voice of Optimus Prime.
- Cissy Jones is Elita-1. Rory McCann, the Hound of Game of Thrones, is Megatron, and Diedrich Bader is the voice of the evil scientist Mandroid.
- Optimus wants Bumblebee to train the new bots and family recruits.
- Bumblebee is the mentor to the new Earthborn Terrans. Danny Pudi wants to be the cool babysitter. Twitch is described as a straight A student.
- Optimus alt-mode looks more like his Prime truck design. Twitch is a drone. Dr. Mandroid is part man part droid. He has a cybernetic claw-like arm. Thrash is a cafe racer.
- At the start of the show, the family moves from Philadelphia to the small town of “Witwicky.”
- Malto Family are the human friends of the Earthborn Terrans. Set in a world where the Great Autobot and Decepticon War has already happened. Optimus Prime is almost like a celebrity.
Paramount have uploaded our first teaser trailer of the series which you can watch after the jump with our usual screencaps gallery. Let us know your first impression on this new show on the 2005 Boards!

…strangely so am I. Like I'm not against redeeming villains or making them sympathetic, but I loathe the Draco in Leather Pants and Ron the Death Eater tropes with a passion. Especially when they're in combination. That said, fine let's treat Megatron as a knight templar well intentioned extremist type that is where his character has been evolving since at least Aligned anyways.
It wouldn't be hard to make the other Decepticon Leaders worse than him. Scorponok could go either way though.
And there are plenty of psychos for hire types that probably went rogue after the war ended.
Pravus Prime
I don't know what I expected when I clicked on this thread, but this wasn't it.
New show threads, the cycle of remarks is always disturbing.
Tetratron
A "who really killed Optimus?" argument in the year of the good lord above's 2022.
Rojixus
Ugh, I lost all respect for Marvel Optimus after that video game bullshit.
Optimum Pride
Nah, that was Wheelie obliterating that poor Sweep.
Checksources84
Optimus's idealism isn't about hesitating to kill Decepticons, but an unwillingness to accept "collateral damage"
The inhabitants of Multi-World in the Marvel Comics
Hotrod in The Movie
Being distracted by waterlogged Spike in the pilot.
It's the inverse of the complaints about Man of Steel's Superman.
TF Hot Rod
Maybe but I’m okay with that.
World Turtle
he’s also stated to be only one of several Decepticon figureheads. What do you want to bet they’ll treat Megatron as the lesser evil or just the token good teammate given the description to other Decepticon warlords like Scorponok, Thunderwing, Overlord, Deathsaurus, etc.?
Confused Millennial
He was lecturing him like a Bond villain when he was continuing to move instead of telling him to freeze.
BigRed
Optimus had such extreme idealism that he tried to verbally humiliate a guy before shooting him?
Fenrys
Optimus had plenty of opportunity to shoot Megatron prior to the hostage situation but instead chose to monolog about mercy
BigRed
It's not 'idealist extremism' that stopped Optimus, it was a hostage situation.
Confused Millennial
The resource concerns show up in the cartoons too (Golden Lagoon particularly), and Optimus' idealism is arguably what gets him killed in the Movie (unwilling to deal a crippling blow to Megatron until he himself has sustained fatal wounds).
Checksources84
On the subject of G1 being " gritty" or on the same level as RID 2015 and Earthspark.
Marvel's treatments and outlines set the intended tone for the franchise, that the Sunbow cartoon often failed to live up to.
Bluestreak's PTSD
Thundercracker's moral doubts about Decepticonism
Optimus's idealistic extremism.
And the narrative concerns about renewable resources and environmental exploitation.
Fenrys
I doubt it's a sequel of any sorts, including to Cyberverse. Megatron died in the season 3 finale to Cyberverse, so him being alive in Earthspark kind of nixes that possibility unless he got better.

Random thoughts/first impressions:
TF Hot Rod
What do you mean the exact same characters? Prime, Megatron and Bee are characters that should always be expected no matter what in a series. WJ is a pleasant surprise and he's looking great.
I don't remember Elita or Swindle being in Cyberverse. Also I don't see many from Cyberverse in this.
In additon, we are getting new characters like Twitch and Thrash.
I mean we haven't seen the whole season for all we know we could see C-listers in it. Like who knows who that Snowcat looking bot is.
ClatterShards
Oh you know..the exact same characters from previous series.
They literally couldn't have used any other Transformer bots from the C-list ranks or lower to star in those Autobot/Decepticon roles.
TF Hot Rod
What characters are they using that are "overexposed" besides Optimus, Megatron or Bee?
Her big eyes and Prime face/faceplate are the only design stuff I dislike or am not a fan of.

The little girl has pacman eyes (at least near that crystal scene) that don't move as the girl does. I assume the pacman look is to simulate a shining light reflection but stay there statically.
